It seems that on PS4 when trying to use quickswitch hotkeys from gear to weapons does not function properly. Example: I have my netgun keyed to X and my war club keyed to R3. If I have Audio Decoys, Traps or Motion Detectors equipped pressing R3 or X does not switch at all. Now if I have a weapon equipped be it blades or Plasma Caster or any other weapon the switch takes place just fine. I think this should be fixed. Switching from gear to weapons using a hotkey should be possible.

I experience this problem sometimes when moving from a trap/detector to a weapon. I’d describe it as inconsistent when affecting my gameplay, as in it doesn’t always happen, but it happens at least once per match.
I’m pretty sure it is a bug, but I am not entirely sure why it doesn’t work as intended.
Whenever it happens to me, leaping has cleared it and it starts working again until it happens again.
Interesting. For me it has never worked. Almost like there is no compatibility for hotkeys when switching from gear to weapons. I always have to weapon wheel to weapon after using gear then I can switch easily between weapons after that until I need to use gear again. It really breaks the flow of gameplay efficiency for me. It’s not game breaking by any means but makes using gear tedious as hell. Sometimes I won’t even bother unless it’s a perfect setup
I can confirm this as on the PS4 controller as well. When you just switch to gear using hotkey, then any weapon with hotkey without using the gear (for example traps), it works.
But when you lay a trap, then try to switch to any hotkey weapon, it doesn’t work.
On PC I’ve noticed this mainly with the bear trap, motion censors tend not to cause the issue.
