Many of us have been saying it since pre release. “This game is technically broken”. Bad stability, bad frames, bad optimization, crashes and more bugs than Starship Troopers. They take 1 step forward and 2 steps back with their work and concept. “We will fix these bugs” but introduce more in the process.
Nothing exemplifies this more than the latest update. New map, new mode, FT vs FT, Pred vs Pred. Sounds amazing right? I thought so. I stopped playing about a month ago due to lack of gameplay diversity amongst pred builds/classes and stale maps. Came back thinking this would be the patch to bring this game around to better things. Boy was I wrong. It disheartened me. It really does. Predator is my favorite franchise after Robocop. This game had so much potential and to see it squandered so much really shows the incompetence of this dev team and company. I know their hearts are in the right place but their heads quite frankly are up their asses.
New mode wasn’t what we wanted but after playing a match or 2 I was like “wow this almost works”. Almost. This modes frames are goddamn atrocious. And seeing as how they haven’t been able to fix that same (albeit less frequent) issue in hunt mode, I think they have no idea what they are doing from a technical standpoint. The whole thing feels like it’s glued together and then painted to look new.
I was hype for this. I have stuck with this game as long as was sanely possible for me. They do not treat us as fellow gamers, hell they barely respect us as consumers. They treat us as paying playtesters for their garbage architecture. And when we try to give certain feedback they either flat out ignore it, claim to be working on it or when they do implement a fix or content it feels like they threw fruit at the wall and some stuck and most didn’t. The last ounce of faith/hope I had, has evaporated. Hell I literally just thought about if this game was free, would I still play it? I would not in it’s current state or any previous state.
I refuse to devote anymore time, energy or money into this playtest build of a game, and I will never purchase a game with Illfonic on it.
I wish the rest of you still trudging on the best of luck and hope you can continue to enjoy…whatever it is you enjoy about this game.
As for you Illfonic, I think you need to stop tying up amazing IP’s with your technical ineptitude and focus on the basics for now. Heart only goes so far.
