I think it leans more towards what Sam said, that the armor percentages for each side got buffed rather than specific weapons got nerfed. Hard to tell exactly rn. In casual play, this makes it more interesting since firefights will last longer. In privates, Pred is more screwed.

So less skilled FTs complain that pred is too strong. That happens when unskilled pred kills them in a few minutes. Unskilled pred is likely to use melee. Illfonic response: buff pred melee.

Tbh I’m kind of cool with this, I feel like nerfing fireteam across the board and incentivizing a more melee playstyle is fun for both side, if they do it right. So predators don’t get melted like a bar of soap in a microwave, but fireteam also doesn’t get instadowned by a combistick from 300 meters while reinforcing

I’d say the most important nerf here was the ammo stuff. The 2nd most important aspect of a Predator being able to win a match was whittling down FT resources. You still have to win the DPS Race & that can be an uphill battle, but going off of what Sam has said in his videos last night, majority of FTs are gonna have to bring a Support now & some classes will probably be better off not choosing pistol as their secondary.

As of now, DLC classes do not provide any type of special damage reductions except for CH and Samurai

Does stuff like “On Armor” & “Whilst Cloaked” stack/add together or does one just override the other?

I believe they stack. Have not truly tested.

Combi was also nerfed, should be around 57-58 now

Does the predator have less energy now? It feels like the pred runs out of energy very quickly

They changed stuff so the approach is different. TBH, I found ranged gameplay so boring. Hit and run tactics are far more entertaining and that’s what the game has geared towards now. Plasma Caster is still there and is still effective, even if you lost your mask. Snipers can now only do so much if preds tend to get closer. The damage reduction buffs now allow for preds to get closer without getting melted so fast. It also rewards skillful players that consistently do headshots.

Premades are still going to be hard as fuck, but I don’t think is easy mode like before. I played for about 2 hours with competent players and while we did not lose a single match, it wasn’t like before where we would chase and kill all predators with ease. On most matches only one or two of us left on the chopper. Matches were longer too.

AI spawning is ridiculously high now and they activate alarms almost immediately. So fast, that I even saw a player deactivating the alarm and before she could, and AI spawned and activated it, lmao

All in all, game feels a lot like what it was at launch, where you have to team up if you wanna win consistently

yeah i noticed simaler things i played like a dozen or so matches yesterday on FT and i think i only bagged two predators all the other games i extracted to win because preds are just taknier than they were before also ammo is super scarce

good changes tbh makes the predator seem like a threat in the match rather than a bag to shoot

I did one FT Match earlier today where I sprinted down a Captured as Scout and knifed him to death, so I don’t think they’ve made any great changes to FT’s movement or how absurd knives can be. I’ll presume he was new as fuck 'cause I haven’t played FT in nearly a year & half and haven’t touched the game in general until today for like 9 months.

So, what playstyle are we supposed to use against good teams now? It seems like everything the pred has got nerfed. I doubt melee weapons are going to be useful against these teams.

I haven’t bought the update myself so I wouldn’t know everything balancing wise. I only watched a share screen of a friend playing on the PS5 version & discovered over 20 new bugs just watching him play.

From what I’ve heard from the likes of @Mith & other people they seemed to get melted still in Private Matches either just the same as before if not even worse because of the Predator Weapons dealing less damage & the Predator seemingly having less energy.

same shit that has always worked. traps, bolt, plasma, sickle for melee

The bolt is difficult to use and pretty situational. Maybe I’m just going to have to get used to the update, but so far it feels like the pred became a lot more difficult to play after the update
