Thanks for night mode.

Sincerely. I wanted it, lots of people wanted it, it aint without fixins but it’s here. Thanks for the effort.

That being said, please try to get the preds thermal vision balanced in night mode, as well as fts nvg. Specifically the brightness in both, its… a little unbearable. I’m sure it’s already in the works.

I’m also noticing more crashes with NVG than not. Might be something?

Personal input: you could remove a good bulk of the fire barrels giving light in between areas. Kinda makes NVG pointless.

Agreed

Love it or leave it!

I remember all the stealth expectations for night mode with flashlights and whatnot, seems like illfonic QA testers said fuck that nerf pred buff FT

I feel like flashlights got cut in favor of built in night vision because it does stealth no good if Predator can spot your flashlight. Yeah you can add it into gear but if you’re deploying at night why wouldn’t you use night vision outright? It becomes adding a night option to your builds which can screw players as they adjust loadouts more than needed because now several builds need a night variant.

Flashlights infinite, NVG have a fast battery drain.
Like every game with night vision.
no reason for it to be gear, specifically.

Though all of this is irrelevant now, not like its actually dark in this game anyways

If you were expecting thermal at night to be exactly like thermal at daytime you kind of misunderstand the concept.

I think for the sake of simplicity or implimentation that they did what they did. Otherwise it would go like this:

  1. Only fast helmets or helmets with NV mounts would allow the use of nv. They would need to implemant a helmet with an attachment system which would now have to be turned on or off. Probably too much work for too little payoff.
  2. Flash lights although cool would need yet another button to bind for it.
  3. using both would be problematic because now these two have new binds AND activating one would interfere with the other -this would make yet another peice of data being forced through the network.

No, I expect a video game not based in realistic immersion to have viable optics.

But if you wanna go that angle, why exactly is a jungle all cold-blue? Why does a little bit of mud render you invisible? Cuz its a game lol

Then illfonic misunderstands the concept because the current target iso looking thermal is a bug

That and the surrounding jungle should be darker at night. No sun means less ambient heat. Means FT should stand out more.

Science.

no you better take your red/blue pallete swap with no shading anywhere whatsoever and leave that AvP2010 thermal behind you

Not to mention they should be able to keep their body heat down by moving slower and drinking lots of water as part of a standard jungle diet.

I miss that game

Same

Are you talking about in game? Or are you saying thermal is naturally worse at night? Because I’m pretty sure it would be more effective at night and to an animal , the difference between night and day would be pretty much identical 🤨

All I know is you people better love it or leave it!

Based Anti-AVP2010 take.

because of the reflections of the water in Earth’s atmosphere? Science? But prove me wrong. What is it suppose to be? Greyscale?
