When I logged in to download a 15gb patch I was extremely hopeful. As it turns out, everything I was afraid of turned out to be correct.
No new maps.
No new game modes.
No new customization. No skins, nothin…oh wait. Now you can select the “thicker” female dreds…great.
No new progression after lvl100.
Bug fixes? Maybe?
I selected quick play and prepared for my first match…oh look, me and another player have been dropped into an empty lobby. Will it fill? …waiting…still waiting…welp, he left. I’m still in that lobby as I type this and it hasn’t filled. So one of the biggest issues that needed addressed has been untouched.
I’m guessing there were bug fixes? I’ll never know because this was the last straw for me. The 15gb was probably just so the game would be compatible with players who purchased the DLC (which I most definitely WILL NOT)
It appears the only additions to the game are a daily and weekly challenge. Both of which can be satisfied in about 2-3 hours or less. This is Illfonic’s answer to earning veritanium past 100.
The reason we still don’t have patch notes is becasue I’m guessing they’d only be a paragraph long and the community would riot if they could see how little the game has actually changed.
This game needed and deserved so much better than what it got. It couldn’t be more clear that it’s in the hands of the wrong developer. Illfonic either doesn’t have the passion, or the resources. Either way, I can’t see spending any more time on the same 3 maps, doing the same boring missions, with the same imbalances, issues, and pacing. This patch is the final nail in the coffin of what could have been a great game.

P.S. I’m still sitting in an empty lobby, contemplating my life choices and learning to be wiser with purchases in the future.
P.P.S It’s only fair that I play at least one match. So here’s my experience…
PC frame-rate is even worse than before. Noticed no performance improvements of any kind. Noticed no change in my ability to hear, see, locate and spot the Predator. Predator was still leaping wildly and bouncing off objects (In fairness, could have been a bad player). Noticed no difference in time to complete missions, or any additions to mission structure. Sniped Pred mask off in my first match. Pred was still a pushover (again, maybe a bad player).
After everything was said and done, I did come out of the match with about 1,200 veritanium. So perhaps an improvement there. So I decided to purchase some loot boxes to see if drop rates or duplicates had been fixed…can you guess?
5 loot boxes, 3 with all duplicate items, 2 had a common level item I didn’t have. So nope.
Predator still easy to spot, snipe, melt and generally bully. Played one as the Pred. Had a perfect opportunity to take out one player. Got the down, could have claimed. Saw a teammate coming to help, decided it wasn’t worth it. Tried to run, but becasue of the games terrible mechanics and collision (I was inside the 2nd floor platform of the railhouse on De-railed), got stuck on the fucking downed player (why the fuck can’t I run through/step over/push aside a player I’ve more or less ended!?) and had half my health melted becasue that’s all it takes is one soldier, one clip. Ran away. Sure enough what do I see but a lone commando with a knife bum rushing me. I decided to test it. Nope. Even with mixed timing, leaping behind, quick caster, the fireteam still has the advantage in melee, even in a 1v1. So beyond the lack of bug fixes, missing content, continuing matchmaking issues, it’s clear the team at Illfonic is happy with what they consider “balanced.” Sure I could have run away. But this is not the experience I want when playing the Predator. It just isn’t and clearly, this is the game the dev team wants. If you’re happy with Parry. If you’re happy with knifing a Predator to death, or a lone soldier charging in with a knife becasue he knows he can win. Then kudos to you. It’s obviously not the game for me. I couldn’t be more disappointed with this title. I’m done. That’s it. I’m not coming back, and you’ll never see another cent fro me Illfonic. You’ve lost my business for life.
