Predator: Hunting Grounds is an awesome and addictive game. I love it and I want it to be better which is why I am making this post. As it stands now the game largely favors the fireteam in terms of balance. I feel that the Fireteam is given way too many resources and has a much easier time dealing with the Predator than the predator has with them. I know some people cry about getting clobbered by a Berserker with a combi, but with the way the game is that class is the only one that is able to deal with the meta.
Healing and Ammo
Right now medkits, stims, and ammo packs are way too prevalent in the game. At the base, you start with 3 medkits and ammo packs if you take them. When thrown down they each can heal and resupply everyone in your team to full. This is extremely crazy when you have a 4 man that is running all of these, and then there is the addition of med stations and ammo boxes that spawn in the world. The game even advises you as the predator to destroy these to limit the fireteamās resources, but since the fireteam already has so many of these it is a useless strategy and just a waste of energy and time. Stims heal for a ton and you can carry two while also resupplying them at ammo boxes. I would bring down the heal a bit on these and make the use time slightly longer. On the predatorās side, you have their healing kits which do heal to full health but take an hour to use but, you can get three to take with you with the perk on. Pigs that roam the map are supposed to be another way to heal and based on estimation they heal you for about 50% maybe a little more. The issue with pigs is that there is either never enough of them on the map or they are just nonexistent on some maps. We need more pigs on the map. I donāt know how to deal with the medkit and ammo situation. Maybe for the ammo, you get one charge of it that can be resupplied at one of the ammo boxes on the map. The medkits could be the same, or we let them have 2 but give the predator some status effects that debuff healing or something.
Weapons and Gear
I donāt really have that much of an issue with miniguns and launchers or any of the fireteam guns. The only thing I would really touch on is that I would give the bolt action and the 50 cal sniper bullets a trail when it is shot. The predatorās weapons are kind of weak as it stands. The sword doesnāt do much damage per hit but it is fast. I think it would be cool to add the āanti healā status effect to this weapon to see it get used more to count how often medkits and stims are used. The handheld plasma caster is just trash. I donāt know how we would fix that. Maybe just remove it and instead fill its slop with a ālock onā attachment for the plasma caster that locks on to targets when you are aiming with it. This attachment will take a weapon slot though. The disk needs to go further, faster, and be easier to turn. The club needs more lunge or tracking on that last hit because it takes forever for it to happen, or better yet let the predator charge a melee attack with it by holding aim and then hitting the fire button. Pinning someone with the bow or combistick should be more consistent. The melee of the combistick should be slightly toned down since everything is getting buffed.
Perks
Remove the āDo more damage to Yautjaā Perk or change it to āDo more Damage to Yautjaās mask and equipmentā because with the way it is now someone can use that perk with the melee damage perk to literally solo the predator in melee engagements. It is also one of the things that are contributing to the predator getting melted down. The predator doesnāt have an equivalent perk that is just āDo more damage to fireteamā if they did then I wouldnāt be complaining about the FT having one.
Miscellaneous
Open up the loadout system for FT. If someone wants to run shotty+smg, double snipers, smg+pistol, or LMG+launcher, who cares? Matches should be longer. Add another mission or two to the game so that the game is longer and disincentivize people from rushing the missions and leaving in like 2 minutes. Iām thinking about the idea of another piece of gear that allows the predator to hack alarms and call in a shit ton of NPCs to give him chaos so he can do his job. Lastly, reinforcement is kind of silly. They completely change the outcome of the game but are accessed so quickly and without effort that it makes zero sense. It should spawn enemies where the reinforcement radio spawns when he tells you about it and they sit there and patrol it. When it does activate it should take longer than 10 seconds for the reinforcements to show up.
Thatās basically all I have to say. If you disagree or have some ideas or points to add then you are more than welcome. Please be excellent to each other
