You’re saying this as if Black Gorden was bad.

I do agree that changing a character’s race for diversity sake is most of the time harmful for the story, but you have times where you get a new spin on the character that isn’t harmful to their overall characterization.

I personally don’t give a fuck, it’s when it’s actually done to purposely change the character beyond what they are meant to be is when it’s harmful to the media.

Plus you’re using the Black Templars as a meme unironcally when their whole thing is that they are the worst when it comes to becoming what the Man Emperor wanted his Astartes to be, worshiping him as a God, not a man, so you simply just don’t even get basic messages like that.

I’m pretty sure there’s more “reboots but black and/or women” than there are original characters.

Even having characters take up the same mantle gets iffy because it quickly spirals down the path of “lets have this character go on a rant about nazis.”
Its basically just a repeat of the era of 80s blackspoitation films but the modern corporate bootlicker will argue its totally different this time because of whatever intention behind it and then they can shill Black Panther as the greatest film of all time. The latter sucks too because they will change the thematics of the whole character because a minority can do no wrong & you are treading a very thin line of “representation.”
Just make a new character and have it stand on its own merits, the character doesn’t have to be representative of some shitty community label. But the companies doing these race/genderswaps think they have to ride the coattails of an existing character and broad sweeping labels are all the rage right now. Which is worse, you just end up with a knockoff and then you can cry nazi when people don’t like your politically motivated changes.
The only time its irrelevant is when you’re adapting an already irrelevant character.

I liked Harley in injustice,

I haven’t read it but I’ve heard of ccomics where joker and Riddler went sane and helped Batman out for a couple comics, the concept is cool at least.

As well there’s been a conversation online I’ve seen where some one said “all riddler really needs is a weekly meet up with Batman to play chess to help cool his ego”

So the idea of a T.V show where you start off fresh. Your villians and your hero’s are who you expect but over time Batman visits them in Arkham and helps them recover. And then they can come in for cameos like Riddler or for some one like Harley she could just become a hero since that’s her whole stick now.

That would just be fucking amazing

If your not fully convinced the animated series played with this idea where some of the villians tried to go straight

They can only do so much with Batman, and technically this applies all to Marvel and DC in general. Let the heroes have their ending already and stop stretching them out to the point where there is so little idea left that somehow making them black will make a real difference.

Deadass what amuses me from the reactionary right so much is that they get so close to see the shortcomings of consumerism that when they get so close to the point, somehow it ends up to being “its black people’s fault”. Batman being black is simply just the result of cashing in on the series, tapping into every single avenue they can think of in order to make money. They aren’t in for the progressive agenda as people think, its simply long as it makes them money then it works. Which is why I laugh when they say “woke go broke” because if that was the case then why keep doing this and making more money from it? Some things will fail here and there but they make their money. Otherwise, if they didn’t care about losing money, they would bank on new IP and ideas since there is more risk with newer things. BUT they don’t, because proven brands had shown time and time again that it makes them shit tons of money, so they keep milking and milking because they gotta please thier shareholders and meet the bottom line. That’s it, its for profit, nothing more. Black people exist, nothing else to it.
