Now, before the update, I always dreaded playing Predator a little. Its fun, but its also more stressful. I preferred FT, but enjoyed playing Pred enough that I did one every four rounds, just to keep the balance.
Now, I’ve gotten a few pred rounds in NP, and Its been fun, but I’ve been getting all the dailies, FT dailies, so I’ve done quite a number of rounds these past two nights. And man, was I glad that I finished the daily tonight. The issue seems to be that there is no middle ground in difficulty. Either its a steamroll or a steamroll. Now I’m not great. I can’t solo the predator. I can hold them off for a bit, enough for my team to remove them. The problem is, that’s not happening. I’ve yet to have a competent team. In dozens of games since the update. Not one had even a sliver of intellect. One, I swear, had their headphones on backwards, constantly turning the other direction from the pred sounds.
And its not like the preds were all that great either. The ones which were bad died quickly. The ones that were average or better just killed the entire team. One pred could only throw the spear. That was it. He missed every net. Every melee swing was poorly ranged, and still, I’m watching the team all fall down. Another got to us very early and jumped in front of us, in a bush. In front of everyone. And as I’m getting closer, thinking we were to surround it, I watch everyone just run past it, with me at the back being the slowest, the one she attacked, and I’m parrying, dodging arrows, and I can’t do it forever and I’m finally brought down. No one was around. As I sit and wait, I see her take out two more, still wounded from our fight, barely taking damage as she downs them both in the same area. And where’s the third one? On the other side of the compound, grabbing V. I could go on and on, but I don’t want to play fireteam anymore. Even the average predators are getting team wipes.
I know what’s going on. Its the new update, everyone coming back. We got new people who heard Dutch is playable, so they’ve hopped on, and I’m surrounded by a tide of noobs and rusty players, but man do I wish I had more than one competent teammate for those 10+ matches today.
