The number one thing that needs fixing

From the predator’s point of view, the number one thing that needs fixing is parrying. It’s absurdly overpowered, to the point where going in is no longer viable, even against a single fireteam member. This limits your options as the predator and makes most matches play out at long range, which is boring for both sides.

If the parry can’t be altered to be less spamable, maybe the pred needs a perk to deal with it, or one of the melee weapons could be changed so that the likelihood of parrying it was less reliable.

Completly agree. The only time melee is viable is when a FT is completly alone and stuck in a bear trap. Otherwise you’ll die. Range is both safer and deals more damage. Removing parries makes range safer but puts melee as the powerhouse.

This is true. And it can be objectivly stated that less viable playstyles is worse than more viable playstyles.

Fun is subjective. Not a good arguement.

Considering the amount of risk a predator is in for using melee removing parries suplements the high risk high reward nature of it rather than just nullifying it.

This is easily remedied by giving the predator his own parry or at the very least a block

They are masters of hand to hand combat

While I do think pred needs a block…
Parries aren’t apart of that system.

Why?

It breaks melee. Literally range has more DPS than melee whole being a 100 times less risky.

How does it break melee?

It makes it level by giving both players the same ability

I think both sides need a parry and a block

So it can be an actual fight

Avp 2010 had a decent melee system I thought. Like a rock paper scissors sort of thing

No it doesn’t. Parries completly prevent the pred from using melee. Literally. Any melee attempt results in a stunlock. (If you keep attacking obviously)

Preds don’t have a parry, just a melee. FT has a melee and a parry.

A FT can 1V1 a pred. In a 1V4 game. The numbers don’t add up. Ya both players have the same ability. But this an asymetrical game. Not For Honor.

And no FT shouldn’t have a block. Im fine with a riot shield because that takes up resources. But a block (even in exchange for parries) will leave the pred at a higher TTK then a ranged build. Thus making melee worthless. Its the same problem but not as bad. And thats even more compounded when you give pred access to parries too.

Parry is needed to avoid brain dead spammer with Alpha Sickle. Although I think the knife damage is too much, instead of nerfing the parry , they should nerf the knife damage.

OR maybe just balance melee around a game without parries so you can’t get mindlessly melee’d spam.

What do you mean? For me now the parry is fine as a Predator and Fireteam player. I have no issue with parry when I play Predator even when I play against my friends in private. The problem everybody has is how fast the Predator get melted.

The only way I figure you’re changing parry is adding a dive/roll mechanic to take it’s place. That’s far too complicated and different than the the current system so I don’t ever see it being implemented.
Parry in and of itself is fine. Just gotta get right outta there after you’re parried before you get second winded by an assault with a 30% damage buff.

Lol everything seems to brain dead to you. He attacked me in the back with the sickle he is a brain dead spammer, the pred uses his best weapon from range he is a brain dead no skill loser. Uggh plz stick to one

All range weapons are the opposite of brain dead. Plasma caster is easier but it still require more aim than Alpha Sickle. If you get killed from behind with Sickle means your teamates werent helping you so it’s ok if you die. What is not ok is allowing pred go 1 vs 4 melee and kill every one. You wont help fireteam by increasing damage but by decreasing melee damage. Damage of fireteam should be reduced.
