The Shader King's Predlocks Shader Review!

Hello again! This is the second review and the last one I’ll be doing for the day. So we’re on the predlocks now, how exciting! I can’t lie I actually have a bit of a soft spot for these. I love the predlocks and I think they’re a fun thing to customise.

Much like the weapons the predlocks, minus the alpha’s all share the same shaders so just like last time I won’t review them on each individual type or predlock I will review them as a whole. Also I will not review the elder’s as that has no shaders. Anyway, let’s get into it.

All Predlock shaders excluding Alpha’s and Elder’s-

Brown/Silver: It’s a good choice of shader if you’re looking to make a believable looking predator. But for me the brown looks too ugly so it’s not a shader I would personally choose over the default one but I very much see why others would choose it.

Marbled/Bronze: This is a decent one. It’s quite simple and it doesn’t stick out which adds to its charm. Another solid choice that this time I would choose over default.

Banded/Red: It’s a decent one with more subtle colours but it looks a little washed out. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad one but I would say there’s a much, much better one than this that’s just a better pick overall.

Green/Bronze: Honestly this one is pretty ugly and is just a more simple, washed out version of the marbled green and bronze which is far superior. Green is a bit of an odd choice of colour for predlocks and that’s quite evident by this shader. Definitely not a shader I would use.

Marbled Orange/Silver: This one is a slight one up from the last one. Though orange is an even stranger choice of colour for Predlock than green but I do get the appeal of this one and it looks quite decent on the Valk Predlocks with the silver and gold jewelry pieces.

Marbled Green/Bronze: This is one of the more solid ones I would say. I really like the whole camo look to it and I can see it fitting very well on a predator inspired by a swamp land.

Red Speckled/Silver: Ah now this one I love. Yes it’s a bright colour but it looks so damn good on preds. The black and red looks so good for predlocks and it looks quite menacing.

Blue Banded/Silver: Another really good one that I adore. I always use it if I’m trying to create a predator that’s an elder or ancient and it looks so good on them. The light greyish blue and the black with the silver jewelry is a sight to behold that’s for sure.

Marbled/Red: This gets a chef’s kiss from me, the Shader King. This is similar to Banded/Red but I would say it’s better. The colours pop so me and stick out and it looks so damn good on Valk. Well most shaders look good on Valk but this one especially. It just looks so good on all of them and is a must get for you shader fanatics.

Alpha Predlocks-

Primordial: My goodness this one is beautiful. It’s so simple yet so good. The red fading into the grey is such a nice touch and it’s an overall really clean looking shader.

Ashen: This is essentially Primordial but reversed and it’s a damn good alternative. The red sticks out just the right amount and without being too subtle and too in your face and it works like a charm. If you were to ask me I would say this is the best looking Predlock shader out of every single one.

Mire: I would say Mire requires an acquired taste. You have to like the green predlocks to really appreciate this one. I really like the light, greyish green colour on these Predlocks as it has a snake vibe too it and of course the hint of brown and black is a really nice touche. A perfect choice for a swamp based predator.

Hematic: Hematic is incredibly simple but that’s why it works so well. It’s a great alternative for the lighter shade that is the default. The darker tone of this does wonders for the alpha Predlocks.

So that’s review number two done! What do you think? What’s your favourite shader for the predlocks? What’s your favourite predlocks? Which don’t you like? Let me know! And I’ll see you all in the next one tomorrow where I review the shaders for masks!

Oooh now that’s a good combo.

I usually go for the gator(I think it is) , its a red and green one . Pair it with red predlocks and boom , a cosplay mr.black 😁

Damn that’s a good combo. Very menacing looking and so clean.

One of the newer masks , if paired with one of the warpaints ? Looks like a cheap version of the mask aswell . Its been that long since I’ve been interested that I cant even remember half of the names .
