These things make playing Pred a huge disadvantage against any coordinated team.

Hey there,
I don’t want to brag about Field Medics, or how OP the damage output of PC Fireteams is, since I’m already used to it as a PC player.
But some really stupidly designed features of this game make it nearly impossible to beat any coordinated Fireteam.

Pigs spawning near the Fireteam.
Even though there are some pigs spawning randomly on the maps, most of the time you will only find pigs near the FT Mission.
In 80% of the cases, the FT has quick access to these pigs, making it impossible to heal yourself without getting put into 2nd wind or even killed, since they will come for you as soon as a boar squeaks.
Additionally, any good team that actually runs around instead of standing still while killing AI will practically prevent those pigs from spawning, the same for the teams that complete the whole mission in less than 4 minutes.

Reinforcements near the Exfil
This happened to me again yesterday.
Killed 3 members of the FT and couldn’t find the last one, only to realize that he called the chopper AND reinforcements.
This is basically possible on all maps, as some locations of the radio are near the Exfil, though it happens quite rarely.
But if it happens while you fight a good team, you don’t stand a chance anymore.
How are we supposed to win such a game?

9 Second spotting aka Recon with Tracker
This is basically a sure loss for the Pred 90% of the time, if the player using it has at least a bit of good aim.
And I say that because we abuse this every night over and over again, when I play with my fixed team.
But for any Pred that has not adapted the “russian school” playstile for Preds, it is just devastating, enabling the FT to still do damage over insane distances, while also reducing your tactical possibilities to near nothing.

Features like these should clearly get redone, as they would give the Pred players a little bit more chances, while they won’t really nerf the Fireteam.

The fact that reinforcements receive a full loadout when returning , while the pred gets nothing shouldn’t be a thing . Preds can’t pick up ammopacks etc to resupply medkits or traps . Its just unbalanced.

I mention this due to you bringing up reinforcements, not to derail your points .

I don’t think so.
If you are a good Pred, the reinforcements itself aren’t that OP. The Pred basically gets unlimited heals if the pigs spawn right, energy recharges, only items and your mask run out.
The Problem is rather that a good FT already finished the mission once they reinforce, making it nearly impossible to beat before they get to the chopper.

If you run into any of the teams you mentioned though? Its high risk with boars , with the spotting and the medkits let you heal in trees ? Thats what I meant , the sound is pinpoint on this game and if they hear the piggy biting the dust? They home in on it and you cant cancel animation , as far as I know . Hell they don’t even have to necessarily spot the boar , if they have uav and are in the proximity.

The odds are stacked against pred and with field medics , any momentum swing with downing a member is short lived .

I do agree with you , they need a rework of their placement of mission objectives and reinforcements when it can lead to the issues you stated .

Good teams are either gonna press objectives or pressure the pred. Even reworking the pig system might not help. Get a pressure team, they’ll track and prevent you from eating (especially since it’s a non cancel, hell they’ll camp a pig and wait for you to take a bite) or, if they’re pushing obj, now you gotta run to another location and eat, leaving them unpressured for a full minute which is an eternity for a good FT to finish up and Bug out

Balance is all intertwined with those facts , I dont think they realise this or they just want it this way .

For Quicker matches and shorter ques , in my opinion. Pred either runs in and gets melted to avoid said things , either wipes the team or fireteam wipe him out or exfil by speed running missions .

Obviously not all games are like those , but I think it for sure drives for faster games and their balance affects gameplans and strategies.

Depending on the variables, pred cant afford to have a sit back approach as its just making it tougher to stop the exfil , fireteam gameplans and loadouts dictate the game when they are coordinated and good players . Preds counter to that is ranged but the spotting boosts etc nullify that somewhat aswell .

Spotter is pretty op but I’ve learned to play through it as a pred main. Take the spotter out there’s no more 9 second spot.

…and if the pred had unlimited traps, he could literally trap the entire map. This would break the game entirely, there would be no purpose in playing this game if this was possible for preds.

…I guess some players believe this is some bullshit game mechanic so they do animation canceling and not having to decloak while eating pigs. That way they eat the pig in half the time and without being detected.

But for players that play this game without exploits, then yes I think they should rework everything you mentioned @Vargaresa

Ok technically… the shit @Vargaresa posted is the reason for the whole imbalance… but this is the only surface level of why its imbalance…

majority lies in the core gameplay of the game that devs need to fix asap but its been a year so im gonna doubt

I do kind of like the balancing right now but it just needs a little bit more tweaking.

See now that’s the million dollar question. If the mechanics are broken and the game is near balanced, what happens when the mechanics get fixed.
If the mechanics aren’t broken…well…shit

That’s why we need testing grounds like how Ubisoft does it, so when the devs tweak the damage output and whatnot we the community can give them a proper feedback rather than it being set up in a private match.

Maybe on the weekends hunt mode turns into testing grounds to see how the community likes the dps changes, but only when changes are being made 🙃

The single best thing to fix the balance is fix the fucking predator mechanics. Predators being launched. Predators bouncing off shit. Predators bugging out of trees. Predators getting stuck between/on/around everything. It’s a fucking travesty.
