Okay seriously, it took awhile but after finding the recordings in game and going over what little snippets of actual lore is in this game I have come to this conclusion.

The fire team shouldn’t have a lot of the shit they have.
Parry ability is probably the most obvious, yeah let me just pull out my military issues steel knife to parry the superhuman strength of an alien hunter twice my size, that managed to bitch smack 2 time bodybuilding Mr. Universe champion Arnold Schwarzenegger on his ass with one hand, armed with blades that canonically can slice through every metal man has discovered like a superheated white hot knife through butter.
Far as I found the fire team is nothing special, no special training beyond standard, no previous knowledge of the Predator which brings me to the second thing that shouldn’t be here, the ability to disarm the self destruct.
Sure let me just use my prior knowledge of this alien technology I have never seen before, encoded with a language no one on earth speaks or understands.
Perfect fucking sense, if you’re gonna put any sort of story or lore in this don’t contradict it with gameplay.
Also if the Predator goes down but manages to activate self destruct, do not patronize us and give us the Predator kill, the Predator literally gives himself up to activate it that should not count as a kill, I do not WANT that kill.
If I kill the Predator I wanna put him down fair and square before he can activate it, its disrespectful to the Predator as the cultural icon he is, I’d rather blow myself up with him than shoot him after he’s admitted defeat like a fucking coward.
Finally the perks that allow more damage to the Predator, again there is nothing special about this Fireteak, they a bunch of unlucky bastards that run into him on a completely unrelated mission. Just like Arnold in the first film, which would make for a much better victory if we do manage to escape or kill Predator fair and square like he did.
But it’s made meaningless if all I gotta do to win is slap on a single solitary perk, instead of oh I don’t know… Outsmarting the Predator like Arnold did!!
Authenticity only works when you commit to it, scrap the bomb disarming, scrap the extra damage perks, scrap the ability to get the kill when he’s activated self destruct and scrap the parry.
We have fucking flash bangs and thermal decoys, we don’t need the other bullshit.

Nowhere in the canonical lore does the predator’s wrist blades slice through any metal we have like knife through butter. Parry is only broken due to no downsides. It has no stamina drain and does damage on parry. Parry needs to drain stamina, the amount depending on the weapon the predator is using. FT melee also needs a decrease, or knife does the most damage out of everything. Defuse I agree doesnt make sense from a lore point, it should be apart of the OLWF perk, the OWLF goes after predator tech and stuff, they would have the most know how, so a soldier with that perk could have the knowledge to disarm the bomb. Also for parrying, look at the Predators movie where the yakuza guy fought the predator with a katana, he blocked and parried, and even won the fight. That was a katana sure, but same concept with our knives. The extra damage to predators could be taken out or replaced with perks for different bullets like FMJ or hollowpoints…etc…hollow points would do more damage to unarmored (most of the predator’s body in unarmored) but less to armored (less damage to the biomass and ai heavies and the beserker predator). Overall the perks arent broken, just oit of place, but it’s for gameplay which I’m fine with. Overall, the wrist blades are fine and can be parried and arent stronger than all our current metals, steel? Sure but not all.

Fire and Stone Newbie, Predator arm blades slice through the Space jockey’s best armor canonically confirmed stronger than any man discovered metal.

Then explain literally all other more reputable and noteabke sources, the blades dont cut through all our metal. Using dark horse for canon? Your joking g right? Dark horse let’s their writers get away with so much shit. I highly highly doubt fire and stone is canon. Learn your shit.

Also you can’t use the Predators movie as an example.
Number 1 because 90% of Japanese sword play is counter techniques, number 2 that Predator made the choice the fight him fair and square on equal terms and there is no way he wasn’t holding back his strength for that.

It is fucking canon and has been since the AVP Extended Universe was made so, Fire and Stone is literally the origin series as to how the Predators hunter like culture became so refined and the origin of how they came into possession of Xenomorph eggs and queens for their trails.
It was literally announced as final confirmation that Aliens and Predator’s share their Universe.

Except avp isnt canon thanks to Prometheus which established the canon of the aliens first creation (alien covenant btw) which shows aliens didnt exist until david created them. So no, it’s not canon, so enjoy that bit of facts. 2nd thing proving it isnt canon, any predator vs alien anything takes place in the alien universe, not the other way around, and in no canon alien movie are predators even mentioned. I bet you think the old clone wars shorts are canon too though. Plus if you read up on the predator wristblades, it literally says they are for fighting unarmored combatants, sure itll rip through our bullet proof vests and shit, but not through any of our metal. So based on the whole origins of the aliens by Ridley scott himself, those comics are not and cannot be canon. It literally requires just a bit of research and common sense.

Oh please, even James Cameron himself disowned Prometheus, it was a failed attempt to recapture the horror movie magic of Aliens and is NOT part of the extended Universe.
Right next to Alien Ressurection and AVP Requiem the only movies that still remain in continuity are the first 2 Aliens, first 2 Predators and Predators movie.

Except james Cameron isnt the say all do all. Ridley scott is. Ridley scott built off of Prometheus with covenant which established the set prequel and origin for the aliens as david as their creator and not having existed until far in the future, not in the past. That being said, with disney now owning aliens, there is some (csnt say if they are reputable) rumors they want to redo the alien franchise, which could see an all new canon for the aliens. Personally the alien didnt need the origin story, they were more terrifying without one, but facts are facts and promethus and covenant are the current canon and earliest sightings of the aliens, which makes alien, aliens, maybe colonial marines (not betting on that though), Prometheus and covenant as the established canon alien universe. Predator, predator 2, predators and the newest predator and the predators canon, with currently no known canon of the alien and predators having met. For all we know the predators if they exists as canon in the alien franchise seem to be extinct by the time alien happens, because there is no way they wouldnt have popped up to fight this perfect organism on lv-426, but nothing. The planet had elite marines and a deadly unknown (except by Ridley’s testimony and what secrets weyland yutany had) species that was strong, fast, highly intelligent, and stealthy and the predators didnt show up? A bit fishy, so most likely, if they are canon, they 1. Havent even met an alien according to alien canon. 2. Are nowhere to be seen, normally good, but not in this case. There is no extended universe, there is the avp universe which has it’s own canon, the predator universe with it’s own canon, and the alien universe with it’s own canon. Currently there is no canon interaction between the 3. Not even with concrete jungle, any of the avp games, or the old avp rts game.

One last tidbit, according to ridley scott, blade runner exists in the alien universe, so to add to the alien canon is the blade runner films. It came from a theory that ridley scott ended up confirming.

Maybe not all is true… but fir sure the parry is bullshit… even without wristblade the strenght of the predator is simply too much for an human. And the bomb disarm is even worst… maybe the could a better work making like in friday the 13th… giving the fireteam specific members with a background… that would be better also for immersion… who cares about the dummyfaceless soldiers we use here?

Except Covenant made the xenos into a fucking cliche and Ridley’s word is about as good as an expired coupon these days.
Also you clearly don’t know how Dark Horse operates, allowing actual owners to distribute work through them and Ridley hasn’t owned the Xenos in years, not since after Alien 3.
Fox owns both Predator and Xenomorphs now and Dark Horse distributes the comics, honestly if you actually thought Prometheus and Covenant would help your argument, I’m not the one that needs to go back and learn their shit.

Ridley still owns them, they are his intellectuals do you honestly not think things through? Just because you enjoyed the comic doesnt make it canon. That is a fact. Fact is, Ridley and fox decides what is canon, and with fox allowing covenant with Ridley, they set the new canon, you literally just helped prove my case also fox doesnt own them, disney does. Your comic isnt canon, proven with facts, you havent provided any facts or proof, simply opinions, facts are facts opinions are opinions.

Edit: At first I thought you would be decent to debate with, but it’s clear you dont think things through and simply want what you enjoy about something to be canon instead of what actually is.

They never denounced them, in fact Ridley said he wanted to do 3 more movies that would directly lead up to the original alien. Once again you dont use facts, and at this point just lying. Can you do any better or am I just gonna keep wrecking you?

Yeah less then 10 minutes not even a full 5 was all it took to find Disney is rebooting Aliens with no involvement from Ridley who has been silent since Covenant’s failure.
If fucking Ridley wants to abandon his license after 1 flop he never deserved it in the first place, you’re just a rabid fanboy of that failure that has never been canon and never will be.
