Yup…
This how traps supposed to work now?
a solution would be to have radios in all the reinforcement locations, so the pred could trap them, but would be a gamble as to which one the ft would actually use.
Ermmmm still not an exploit bear traps are meant to slow u down and clearly it works at radio best lol and if he does waist all beat traps on spawn then he nerfed himself even more than a pred already is that’s 1 great gear he now can’t use lol the main way I’m ever downed or actually fear is from the traps other wise no the pred is a joke
whatever dude, whatever helps your good night sleep boy. it was an exploit, if you think like that or not, doesn’t mean shit
fun fact about bear traps. they don’t work in water for some reason on backwater.
I think they’re temperamental. I used one in the water earlier and it worked, but I have had times when they haven’t. Like most Pred stuff, it’s buggy.
sadly :c
Bear traps are more of a slow down gear. As I’m chasing down the pred if he throws bear traps now I have to stop and destroy them or get trapped either way he gets a chance to get away easier. But these guys want to use them as main weapons lol…🤣😂
Is it normal to be able to shoot while in a bear trap?
I typically use them as decoys/distraction anymore… if they actually trap someone I have to laugh.
Yes. You just can’t move.
Is that not how they work now 🤔 😅
You place them before there in the area
If there seen first there gone
If you’re throwing at the FT there gone (Mid air most times)
If you throw them next to em (when there not looking) boom trapped 😂
yes
you have to choose betwen firing or getting out of it. You don’t have full motion though, so you have a limited range where you can fire
I just had a match with one that literally threw it at me when 2 other team members were DEAD.
I told him “what happend? can’t hit me with the bow when I’m moving?”
he’s a bow spammer with great accuracy, I guess I was too quick for him
IDK Im just going by what one of the mods said regarding throwing traps directly at FT to trap them
How is bear trapping the radio an exploit? It’s called strategy and using tool for what it is intended for i.e. trapping a spot that you believe the target will pass through in a hurry and not paying attention enough to see it and avoid it. An EXPLOIT is taking advantage of a glitch or something otherwise NOT functioning as intended. Like Backwater shenanigans of using a glitch to camp in what should be an unreachable area for example. THAT is an exploit. What you’re talking about is a strategy that’s just overwhelmingly effective until they nerfed it. Unfair? Yeah ok a little. But that is what strategy and tactics are about. The Art of War is one very long lesson on how to gain an advantage over an opponent to improve your chances at victory.
Maybe he thought he could trap your face like a face hugger lol…
That was not the case (it is now).
Before, they were indestructible, so there was no way to “avoid them”. That’s why it was an exploit.
And throwing them in your face, meaning is not because you were not paying attention… well… you just said it yourself. That’s no strategy, that’s just exploiting a broken mechanic. The range of traps is beyond absurd.
I really love how all of you call exploits to any advantage FT has but not do the same for Pred. Even go as far as saying using low graphics is an exploit for FT but not for Pred, which doesn’t make sense at all.
Six bear traps? Unless I missed something before the 2.0 updates, that wasn’t possible.
Crazy Fireteam mains. I get that Illfonic’s not the greatest dev company out there, but they should have seen this coming. It took them this long to change it, so they must have been fine with it for some time. The latest patches have been geared towards casual Fireteam players, so it’s not surprising that the traps got changed.
Actually I didn’t mean throwing it at your face directly. Which is comical and if it works and isn’t taking advantage of a glitch, it is just an unorthodox strategy but still not an “exploit”. A “trap” is generally something that is premeditated and deliberatrly placed and left at a spot that you expect the target to pass through. If the Trap is also capable of being thrown directly at someone’s face, while it is funny as hell and can be effective, no it isn’t really the INTENDED purpose. That said, the crux of my argument was ACTUALLY the complete misuse of the word “exploit” for a tactic you hate, lol. To use your same counterargument about low res graphic usage: To call setting a trap to ambush the target when you KNOW they will go for the radio is an “exploit” or even using it in an unorthodox way via direct attack an “exploit” is absurd. The FT equivalent would be calling shooting somebody with a sniper rifle while hidden an “exploit”. Or shooting them with the Sniper Rifle pointblank (not what is meant for at all but still possible and effective) is an “exploit”. Both of those examples sound completely unreasonable and laughable. Calling the way a trap is used while it functions as intended an “exploit” is just as ridiculous.
