Maybe the emp grenade delayed it?
This how traps supposed to work now?
How about making traps indestructible or completely invisible with trapper perk is equipped. Pred really had to choose his build carefully now, so if it takes the space of large pouch, impatient or whatever else is meta now, maybe it won’t be too OP. Or perhaps trapper can have a higher cost too.
P.s.: sorry if this was mentioned already
a lot of people here have complained about using snipers with red dots or holos, so… yeah ¯_(ツ)_/¯
anyway… it WAS an exploit because they were indestructible. Setting one trap at the radio, sure, okay… setting 3, while they were indestructible, exploit. No matter if you think it was not. you are basically breaking a game mechanic. That’s the reason they were nerfed. And if people keep using them as a melee weapon because they can’t aim, they will be nerf even further. Just wait and see.
From my experience, traps don’t work in water.
Alot of the FT who say throwing traps at people is cheap, or and exploit are often the same ones who “body block” using the games collision mechanics to trap preds in buildings…
sorry, it was an accident, hahahaha
It’s not just you dude… And it usually doesn’t work on me if I got the elder sword out. It happens alot, but there’s no way a 185-200lb dude is going to block a 350- 450lb pred in a doorway.
we usually only block when he’s on second wind. whoever goes into a building and gets second winded, deserves to be blocked, hahaha
I ain’t blocking if he’s not second wind… I’ll run outside like a lil’ bitch
And there’s nothing wrong with that. If the devs think it’s an exploit, they would change it. I just think it’s a bit unrealistic. I mean, FT can “parry” a pred, essentially knocking his strike away like it was a wiffle ball bat.
butter knife ftw
The traps are fine. So lovely how many i get now
… It looks like the anti-cloak nade interfered with the traps cloak field. You can see texture effects on the physical (metal) part of the trap while he’s running around.
Sadly my graphics card has died recently so I can’t test it further. I also can’t say for sure if it affected the trap’s arming time or not
Yeah… who knows… Either way they were walking in the feild plenty long enough to activate the trap. Unless they extended the time it takes…
The only issue with blocking a predator from going out is that downed FT can do it.
Even a standing one should get pushed out the way, but yeah if they get downed pred should be able to step over them.
Realisticly? Sure, from a gameplay POV. I think its fine and awesome. It takes quite a good set up (or a very bad pred) to trick him in and feels really good. If we got by realistic snipers shots should 1 shoot the predator trough his mask… Mud should make you completely invisible just to name 2 things.
IMO, this is what I consider traps to be fair for everyone:
Traps should be invisible
Traps should be silent
Traps should be indestructible
Traps radius should be no more than 1 meter
Traps should have a set animation of at least 2 seconds
That way it forces Preds to use them for what they are intended for… A TRAP. They are still useful to set around objectives, reinforcement, doorways, etc. If you wanna trap an enemy during a melee battle, you have the netgun, which IMO, should also get rid of the “mini-game” and just put an interact timer on them.
I don’t know about that, Preds biomask seems pretty bullet resistant.
That’s actually totally unrealistic. I think it works pretty good the way it is in the game now. I like how it wears off over time. Seems pretty “believable” to me.
The 7en is high caliber(50 I believe but I am not expert), it would put a whole trough the mask and his skull, at least it should. If not go for his chest. Then again even if the mask holds the blunt damage(the force of the impact) would probably turn his brain to mush :)
I am not big into predator lore but the first movie clearly showed Arnold completely invisible with the mud on. So it would be realistic going by the movie.
I’m not sold on that idea just yet. The only time we see anything penetrate the mask in any movie is when the grid alien from AVP kills Celtic with his inner jaws… We could speculate that a 50 cal at range would have more penetrative force than a xenomorphs bite, but that’s about it. Knocking it off is pretty reasonable. Royce in Predators did it with an axe right after Isabelle shoots “Mr.Black” through the torso with her sniper rifle at near point blank range. He’s definitely downed at that point, but Royue finishes him off with the axe. This was after he took alot of damage from the fight with the classic pred and a few simultaneous grenade explosions from right below him.
If you go back and watch the film and look closely you can see Arnold in those shots.
For comparisson, here’s an in game shot of a freshly mudded scout I think? They got it pretty close, especially if the FT isn’t moving and hiding in the bushes.
