I have enjoyed this game so much more since the beta. I felt cheated during the beta and that this was not going to even be worth picking up. I have since changed my mind and I am glad I did.
This is not some hack n slash that you can just walk up to the FT and take them down with minimal risk. Same goes for the FT. You cant go off on your own because all that will happen is the Predator will find you and kill you easily since there is almost no risk. You need to coordinate with your team and the Predator needs to be smart to outwit them.
For example I have seen teams that had the advantage over me, just because they are working together and talking, crumble because I have switched tac as the predator. After spending a while in the trees the FT was (is) almost always watching the trees. But by coming in at ground level you catch them by surprise and can take them all down quickly if not cut one or two down and force a gap in their defenses.
The Predator also has a bit of a learning curve to handle efficiently especially in the early levels. Dont go into games wanting to win all the time, take your time in some matches and test abilities. You get a fair chunk of XP if you win or not.
Another example is how you can use the Roar emote ( as it is the same as the heal roar) to make them think you have just healed after that encounter when in reality you did not. Helps later sometimes as they believe you used a heal and start to get bold as they think you have lower health than you actually do.
The FT has its perks too. Four sets of eyes and four different loadouts (mostly) that can give them an edge. Like right now melee seems to be big VS the Predator. Or how during the chopper pickup the Predator player almost always rushes to get some last second kills. This is a prime opportunity to put your backs to a wall and annihilate the Predator and either kill it or disarm the bomb for free EXP.
Shoot off the BIO mask early and the pred becomes HARD to use efficiently the rest of the game as they just lost their only method of tracking. Short of you calling the chopper or reviving teammates.
I do not believe that the FT or the Predator is inherently OP over the other. YES SOME THINGS need to be balanced out but people need to stop complaining about one or the other just because you were out played or out smarted by the opposing team a few times.
