That sucks indeed. Cool that they give a free dlc code with the toy, not cool if it’s not buyable separately. To make matters worse it really seems like it will be a ps4 exclusive. Not a smart move given the current precarious state of the game imo.
Let’s hope at least that this will be an extra, and won’t be counted as one of the scheduled monthly DLCs
It’s a brilliant marketing technique. But yeah being more costly than the game is totally a bummer. This is not for everyone. It’s a mix between figure collectors and huge Pred fans. It’s not for just for people who play this game.
Actually I’d argue that the doll incentivizes purchasing the game more than the game does the doll.
It would be a real Problem for the People outside of the US. Cause it seems like it is US exclusive. But i still hope it will be released as an normal skin. Maybe we just have to wait a little bit longer.

Today got colder when I read I was unable to preorder this and it specified in their announcement there would be a LIMITED number of these toys released with codes.

This isn’t an exclusive. The announcement only reads that the initial runs will have a code for the character, not that it’s exclusive to the figure.

You’re paying $60 (based on your region, because I pre-oredered the figure for $30) for a collectable item that so happens to be collabed with this game to be a playable class. The code is not the main selling point of the price, the figure is. Like he said, it is only known to be with the figure right now. We still don’t know wether you can still get the class like regular DLC. If you’re a collector, this is the way for you. If not, hope to wait and see if it releases normally.
