Had an idea recently, and I wanted to get the forum’s opinions on it. If you primarily play FT this first part may not be interesting to you, just a forewarning.
I recently thought that the forum has some good communication and ideas, but the game seems to be the opposite. They’ve got voice chat now, sure, but at the same time playing predator feels like an alienating (pardon the pun) experience. I thought it might be cool to introduce clans or groups into the community, just for a bit of healthy competition.
For instance, a clan could have it’s own rules and code for the hunt, maybe even it’s own cosmetic look, and it’s own blooding system like in the comics so you can prove yourself worthy to the clan elders. You could ascend ranks, create a Discord for everyone to converse on, and that way you can keep and publicly display your achievements during a hunt, and also compete with other clans (players compete to win more trophies in a single game, or for an overall total of trophies collected in the span of a week/month). In these little communities, players could also share tactics and ways to counter certain situations, what new spots/strategies they’ve discovered, etc. A group of elders could see over all the different clans, making sure that the community doesn’t fracture or in-fight too much.
Fire teams could also do this, I guess. You could compete for how many successful missions you’ve had, how many predators you’ve delivered to OWLF, and so on. Fire teams could also share strats, and look for players to friend and queue with.
I feel like it might breathe some life into the game’s community, but on our part, instead allowing Illfonic to focus on updating the game and adding new maps/characters. I’d love to hear your opinions on the matter, though.
