Thoughts on the New shield Weapon

While I personally like the shield because I enjoyed it in the movie, I can’t help but feel it’s not worth using. It’s hard to justify picking it over other weapons as it’s not very useful even in its ideal situation. I also don’t like that we can’t attack with it, or attack from behind it. Only wrist blade swipes, What are your thoughts on this weapon? Do you have a preferred build to run it more successfully or any thoughts on what should be changed about it?

It’s easily the worst weapon in the game worse the war club unironically

It’s only purpose right now is to waste fireteam ammo

But a good fireteam player will just stop shooting if they see you pull it out and either try to flank or throw grenades at you or rush you down with their knife because the shield doesn’t block knives

the Sheild should’ve been a 5 cost gear item
Should’ve had parry frames
should’ve either added a bonus attack to your wristblades combo where you bash with the shield flashbanging the fireteam or have an increased swap speed for when you are Holding shield up and swapping to a different weapon

My opinion on the shield:

  • It should block the knives.
  • It should have a 2-hit offensive function.
    Just the fact that it drains FT ammunition is already very strong in itself.
    You have to know how to use it at the right time.
    Adding an offensive function to it would make it one of the best weapons in the game.

The crossbow, rather than making guided arrows, I would have ensured that the arrows reached the location of the laser pointer.

this one of the stupidest things I have ever seen a shield not blocking a knife attack??? wth is this a paper shield

I Agree, as it exists right now i think it should of just been gear and not taken a weapon slot.

So what about in Clash, do arrows damage the same way when opposing preds fire arrows at the pred using the Shield? or even plasma caster? I even forget, do beartraps work on preds at all?

Eats to much energy but can be useful if used right best case to use it is when one FT member is shooting into you and on the reload you go in for the melee. If they keep their cool they can get out of it but more often then not you can beat them down.

Not good for multiple FT unless you are up in a tree wanting them to waste ammo for a little bit.

It needs an offensive capability to justify it for a weapon slot. Would be nice if it shot back the bullets directed at you if you aim your camera at the right angle but I doubt they will do that.
