Time for new weapon animations.

Yes I said it, and this is why.

Warclub, Elder sword and sickle. So at the start of this game you were able to use your caster with the warclub and elder. This was taken away rightfully so, but the when the Katana was added we were given a glimpse into what could have been.

I think these three weapons need a free independent attack much like the katana with light and heavy swings. This will make melee more viable because veteran players have the parry down to a science now which is great.

Why I think this is a good thing tho is because with the addition of clash and the pred on pred combat its basically who can spam first wins a battle most of the time. With a free animation attack the battles could potentially be more intense and not really rely on spaming to win.

im not sure i understand. do you mean that Warclub,Elder Sword and Sickle have attacks that cannot be cancelled out of quickly when trying to use the Plasma Canon like the wristblade?

Nah I want them to have a free animation like the katana. Use both attack buttons. Have a heavy and a light attack.

darn, so there are more than one melee attacks for pred? I thought there was just one, and withh the aim held on,. i got to look at my key binds.

The katana has a heavy and light attack do you not use the katana? At least on ps4 there are two R2 for light and L2 for heavy with the katana

R2-is my aim button and L2 is the regular melee attack.
Yes, you’re right the Katana does two different attacks per button separately.
With Eldersword, the R2 has no function. Which is a waste IMHO.

The Eldersword has a random up stroke…which i think should be bound to a separate button like R2 (aim). Im not sure if it would make a difference though.

Thats what im saying. These weapons all have take on button. Make them use both and free up the animation so you could potentially make a combo. Idk the melee weapons are two restricted they need to free them io a bit

And if they are button lovers, they should make also the combo of pressing both at the same time to get smething different.

Yeah man. I feel this would make melee more viable because it would cause all the parry gods to relearn all animations and timing. Idk I feel like it would make the game feel more immersive in a way

I would make the game a little more clean in my opinion and would also allow for harder hitting combos aswell as quicker hit and run attacks

it would add another dimension of strategy!

I came up with a diffrent idea that might interest you. Basicly you can wield a left handed weapon (mainly range, but exceptions are open) and a left handed weapon (mainly melee but again left open to exception.) For smart disc, combi and Katana they’d be classified as 2 handed and would require both hands to use.

I feel like this would be better as it allows for more creative weapons. Like a left handed dagger/sword that can be used with any other melee weapon, but would have unique synergy with its paired weapon. Or a smoke grenade, which yes could still be implimented for pred, but by making it in the left hand slot, allows for quicker reactions with weapons.
