Too Easy to Defuse the Bomb

So, I get the idea of giving the fire team a chance to defuse the Predator bomb but it seems entirely too easy. In all the dozens upon dozens of matches I’ve been in, I’ve never seen one attempt to defuse that was unsuccessful. The Predator arms the nuke, one of the players starts defusing. 6-8 seconds later: disarmed. Honestly, it takes the wind out the Predator’s sails a little bit and make setting the nuke almost pointless.

I don’t have any direct suggestions on how to make defusing more risky or tense but something needs to be done.

To be honest the bomb isn’t much a threat anyway. The blast radius isn’t that big and the only reason you’ll ever catch anyone in it is if they only half commit to trying to disarm the bomb. The bomb as a whole is a little underwhelming, but I’m not sure what to do to fix it. Other than maybe perks to either increase the explosion radius, or decrease the allotted time to disarm/escape the bomb, with only one of those perks being equippable if you chose to do so. Adds a little more tensity to disarming the bomb if you dont know if they have that perk equipped so it makes it a little harder to decide if you’re going to try and disarm or GTFO.

That’s a good idea, honestly. Perks. Simple enough to add.

Considering you have to lose the game to even use the bomb I don’t see why it matters. You don’t even get credit for people killed by the explosion.

The only times I failed to defuse the bomb were situations were I couldn’t find the prompt to interact with it, my character decided that reloading was more important, or where the Predator’s mask wouldn’t fall off even after unloading all my shells into it.

Honestly think you should at least get credit for people killed in the blast seeing as you yourself have to arm the bomb so it’s your actions getting the people killed
