I better not hear anyone arguing that FT should not be able to 1v1 in melee preds anymore =))

Hype

Yeah you’re right. Especially since we saw billy try and get dogged Arnold try and get dogged king Willy try and get dogged, and the only person who did it successfully had a predator weapon, and was fighting a predator missing an arm, who’d fallen off a skyscraper, been shot 7 times with a shotgun point blank, and attacked with freeze guns. But yes you’re right. Humans have great melee combat track records with predators lol

It was meant as a joke about the video above. On the other hand we did see humans win duels with predators, even fair ones (like the yakuza) that ended in a draw.

I tend to lean towards 1 and 2 for scaling feats considering the movie Predators is trying to tell us that 3 much stronger faster predators than the one in the original, can’t easily kill the same amount of people, as the one in the original lol

Personally I always hated that duel, it should have ended the same way as with the indian guy (forgot his name) in the first move. It should be a slide and then the predator walking off with the yakuza’s head…

Like I tend to think Jungle hunter or City hunter would have instantly disemboweled that goon for attempting a sword fight with them😂 that being said I’d like melee weapons for the FT for actual melee fights so it doesn’t seem as cheesy as the little knife fighting off the combi. It would be easier to swallow if it was a machete or sword the FT member was using

EXACTLY yeah that duel makes no sense dude.

Melee for FT in this game is a very bad way for Illfonic to find a counter to pred’s melee. Something was needed and they picked something ridiculous. They could have given so many other tools to protect yourself, like some type of shield.

Personally I feel like the could have just made a combat roll. Similar to the system in Arkham origins online mode, where Batman’s melee is OP as shit(way more op than the preds in this game) but the gang members guns did high damage(similar to this game) and you’d have to time your combat rolls to avoid strikes then fire at him

That game is 3rd person, this is first person. Rolls in 1st person leaves you more disoriented then anything.

Evading and shooting makes way more sense than deflecting his weapons. Cause I’m not a predator or anything close to it but I promise if I swing a Sword at someone they are 100% not “deflecting” the blade with a knife. That’s not how that works at all, much less against a predator. So a system of combat rolls or some kind of evade tactic would have made more sense. But it’s too late now it’s like core gameplay at this point to whip out your knife when you see him hit the ground lol

This is also true. But maybe that could do this game some good. Some actual confusion and worry while playing FT. At the moment I’m fairly bored while playing FT. I feel like I’m playing a campaign mode on easy. Most predators don’t know when to melee and get parried into oblivion or don’t know how to hide there plasma laser and just get blasted out of the trees

It does make more sense but you would need to make FT 3rd person or it would be a mess. Personally I would prefer 3rd person with roll by far.

Confusion would probably lead to a melee meta where you floor or get floored in the first minutes and its lame for everybody.

His name was Billy!

I’m just not convinced melee will ever truly be meta. Like obviously bad teams you just steam roll with it but that’s bad teams, if I can kill them with melee easily I can kill them with range easily too. True meta would mean beating top tier teams. And even if there was 0 parry melee would still never be meta. You just can’t eat all 4 people, or even 2, laying into you while you down one.

I’m just gonna pretend I didn’t watch that and go on with my day
