I didn’t think trapper perk did anything for the net launcher but I’m reading it does. Has any testing been done to verify this?
Trapper net gun test?
My brother has PHG on PC and has a macro, so I bet we could see if it changes the timing.
It’s still trash
In most situations, the net gun is overpowered. It should have been totally different. It should have been a 3 point gear. Much stronger, but fewer shots like two or three.
A half way competent team will cut their teammate out of it, or you could you know take the 2 seconds it takes to stand still and break out. It’s never useful, unless you is it in a 1v1 but then you’re just trash
I use macro. Makes no difference with it. I get out of it in .75 seconds. If I have the macro activated before the net hits me, I get out of it in .5 seconds
Bro thats broken
Trapper definitely makes a big difference. Without it netgun doesn’t do anything except barely secure 1v1s. With trapper you can secure 2v1s even against the best players if used correctly. Definitely in the top 3 weapons for predator. Macros obviously makes it less good but not by much since they capped the amount of button presses you can do per second(or something like that lol). Basically they nerfed macros in an old patch. If you just play the game you will eventually encounter a pred with trapper and one without and you will notice the difference.
I got a netgun stealth kill lat night. With the sickle.
The pinned to thw ground. Scared the other guy so much he quit
Can someone direct me to any information on macros in this game? I don’t understand the need and some context would help but I don’t want to sideline this form post
Yeah we need the Net Gun/Launcher from AVP. It probably has less nets because it’s in the wrist
You can see it in the thumbnail
Video starts at the Net Gun/Launcher scene.
I wish there was a gif of that moment
A macro is programmed inputs that are tied to one key stroke.
So you could press “h” but your computer would receive “h, h, h, h” and you can adjust the timing between inputs, or you can use it to create quick messages, like pressing “h” would type “go to objective A” in the chat. I guess some people use macros to buy the specific gear they want in Counter Strike with one button press, but some games can detect macro use and ban players for “cheating.” If it can be detected, I would say ban it, but if you’re not going to ban its use, you should take into consideration that players will use it, to remove unfair advantages in crossplay games.
This is how “nerfed” the macro was
the whole netgun macro can easily be fixed by removing the stupid “mini-game” and just put a timed interaction like with traps.
as long as is there, i’ll keep using it and so will others.
BTW console players are able to do it if they have a turbo controller. I used to play on PC with one and it was the same.
I don’t blame you. Like I’ve said before, I have three conditions before I’ll play crossplay, 100% of the time.
Absolutely. It was a bad concept from the start.
I’ll use any tools at my disposal that will make me survive. I don’t care. If you can do it, is game.
I don’t see anything wrong with that. You’re good. I do play crossplay occasionally as fireteam, but only with PC teammates, and I don’t take the matches seriously.
Usually, I just laugh at the “good” PC predators, because it’s always the same style. They just jump spam and widdle your health down with bow quick shots, plasma pistol, or plasma cannon quick shots.
Good PC predators aren’t scary, they’re funny. Like a cross between Tigger from Winnie the Pooh and Katniss Everdeen.
macros are programmed key stokes and/or mouse clicks that can be triggered with a single key (or key combination) press.
You can use whatever combination of keys you want
For example, I have a single button to do jump/interact/reload and a single button to aim/spot/fire
For people with physical disabilities (missing or crippled hands or fingers) they can assist in their gameplay.
The only thing I consider “cheating” is using aimbots or wallhacks, because is literally hacking the game and provide a level of gameplay which is simply inhuman.
Macros, even if they are programmed, can be replicated manually with the correct hardware.
Some people bind two adjacent keys to the interact button and are able to replicate a macro by smashing both keys. Some people may use the mouse wheel in the same fashion. It’s really impossible to detect if the player is doing it manually or automated. One can be just as fast and trying to punish macro users might end up punishing great players. Best thing to do is just get rid of it and use an animation.
