Initially I was of a much more negative/pessimistic opinion of the game than I am now, and I think it had to do with the way the game progresses initially: the first day or 2, the predator had the biggest advantage as the fireteam players didn’t really know what they were doing in regards to fighting the predator let alone navigating the map, then after a few days the predators were being massively bullied, as most of them, myself included, had no real clue how to handle a fireteam that wasn’t running around like headless chickens. Now with the unlocking of traps and the combi stick, it’s much more evened out and is much easier to win a game based on how good you are, as opposed to having a circumstantial advantage, like a better weapon or more knowledge of the map, most players now know what to do and have the ability/equipment to do it, and it makes for much better and entertaining games, however some of my initial criticism still stands. The berserker should not be able to use the combi stick in my opinion, and certain trees should definitely have a higher level, since certain compounds are elevated. Overall, I feel like what I initially thought was wrong with the game, was just part of a harsh, very unusual learning curve, and I’m thoroughly enjoying playing the game every day as the both the fireteam and the predator, though I do still feel matches are sometimes given the opportunity to finish far too soon and that the frame rate whilst playing the fireteam (on ps4) is often horrendous. Anyway, I’m very glad I stuck with this game and though I do still occasionally have the odd terrible match, the overall experience is well, well worth it. I’m truly glad this isn’t the shallow, short lived experience I initially thought it was, it has a great amount of depth and strategy when played right and I look forward to any and all updates in the future. Edit: some ability to play a variety of ways would be very good, I’ve seen someone complain that the way to play and win is dumb, which I don’t agree with, since I don’t play how he does and still manage to win often, though I do agree some more variety in regards to predator’s weaponry/gear and strategy capabilities would be nice.
