Vision with out mask

Would be nice when we have the mask shot off we can see in there natural eyesight which would be inferred but a lower Spectrum or at least let us see in the red and black or white and red…

As an option, ok. I feel like it would be really hard to see though.

Yeah they just need to let us have infrared as an option if anyone use the mask to see higher heat signatures so forget the mask shot we should be able to see and infrared we’re going to be able to scan or anything either so that would still make it fair and the heat signatures will be far less lower

The whole “they naturally see and hunt in infrared” is cool in theory. Everytime I play one in a game though I’m just, “It would suck if this were my ONLY vision because trees, walls, and other obstacles are all things that exist and I can NOT see ANY of them, lol.” It’s like stumbling around blind except I don’t have other senses to hear/smell my way around like a blind fighter.

For white and red that would mainly work if ft used flashlights and wit was another vision mode this would be a great addition if it was a night map

I brought this up first time my bio-mask was destroyed shortly after launch.

The counter argument made by community was that, even tho in the films that’s how the Predator’s see naturally — it’s not how we see and it would be too difficult to play exclusively in that bright orange infrared vision mode after mask is removed/destroyed.

So devs decided to make thermal vision tied to bio-mask and normal spectrum eye sight to be default vision in our spectrum.

The Predators also had motion tracking, so where the FT has spotting we should have motion tracking as the Predators to be able to keep locked on them as well until they break line of sight. Only fair…

That would be the point though

So the predator doesn’t have a mask. He can’t shoot his plasma caster effectively anymore, can’t use thermal vision or target isolation and you want him to be blind on top of it? Is that right?

People are always saying that thermal is their natural vision, but when they see with there mask off, the light is predominantly red. Reminds me of a picture I once saw that was trying to show the infrared that is included in the vision spectrum of some snakes. The picture was red saturated but had visible lines or ‘gas’ where the heat was moving the air.

I don’t think the Pred’s see that red way on their own planet because we aren’t seeing an accurate reflection of what the Predator is seeing, just what the film makers were capable of. The thing is we don’t know the lighting conditions on they’re planet. The colour of their sun, what the gases in the environment absorb or reflect different wavelengths. We don’t even know if they’re predominantly nocturnal.

On earth in this atmospheric light level, with the right heat and humidity too hunt in, they might be near blind. It’s why they use the masks.

That said, I would like if the mask off vision was given an infrared over lay or had colours they wouldn’t necessarily see muted. Not blind, the complete washing out of everything not heated isn’t necessary, just some flavour.

Their natural eyesight is not infrared… it’s blood red everything and damn near blind.

The mask is what allows them to see in different spectrums, without it they see everything in red.

It should be that way as well if their mask is destroyed.

I actually certain Predators have a targeting system already on the plasma Caster itself go look at the Elder and look at his targeting system on his but we can’t use it when we have our mask off makes no sense

They don’t see everything in red they see in infrared spectrum is not as high. With the mask they can switch to several Visions as we all know in the all red one is caused by the mask forget what they call that one the mask when you’re looking through the enhanced infrared to their mascot just helps them have a wider Spectrum so they can see keep patterns a lot more visible

Which is a weak excuse because it’s not like the monster having filtered vision hasn’t been done before.

If you’ve ever played the invasion mode in Dying Light the person playing zombie is stuck with a permanent grainy grey filter and everyone just gets over it. People would still play pred and the current default vision is too good to use thermal. Pred should feel crippled by thermal nades but this isn’t the case which is a waste.

I would agree with that but he had the mask when he saw the motion in the first movie like it was tied to the mask

Just so we are clear, predators are basically blind without their mask, this is why they all wear one, if you implemented a realistic vision without a mask it would be far too crippling, not only would you not be able to distinguish the difference between water and a tree from 15 feet but you’d need to be 5 ft away from a ft member just to distinguish his shape

It would be 100% impossible to win at that point, I like the idea of realism, but if we go the rout of realism then the caster needs to blow your entire body into pieces in 1 shot, the disk cuts you in half, the spear plants you dead to a wall, net gun can’t be broken out of and cuts you into little cubes, trap adds a limp effect permanently, do you see were I’m going with this?

You only think you want realism until you realize what that word means.
