visual glitch after nvidia driver 531.61 to 531.79

I’m writing in general forum section for more visibility.

After 531.61 nvidia driver, and still with the latest (531.79) the game’s resolution is messed up.
As you can see in the pics, selecting “fullscreen” mode stretches the image horizontally, no matter the resolution you choose.
If you switch to “windowed fullscreen” , the image ratio goes back to normal.

Some say that playing on windowed fullscreen mode has a negative impact on the game’s performance, but I didn’t notice any difference in FPS.

Has anyone got the same issue? Is there a fix? Thank you!

I’ll check later today.

I know deleting the platformsettings.sav file usually fixes these bugs

Btw I’ve always played in WFS. Never observed any difference in performance vs EFS

In no game, actually, I find a significant performance increase

%localappdata%/spacefish/savefile

It’s where your user settings.sav file is (usersettings is the one that contains you loadouts and keybinds)

It’s a problem thats been around since the beginning. I’m surprised you’re just experiencing it. Whenever I would connect my pc to my 4k tv and then back to the monitor, the resolution in full screen would be all messed up. Deleting the saved data like jelou says is the only known solution.

the problem arises when switching monitor resolution, particularly when you upgrade/downgrade to a different resolution monitor.

It happened to me when I upgraded from a 1080P to a 1440P monitor and when I messed up with Nvidia DSR values.

Fire, if you’ve been raped by kermit you can always talk to someone about it. There are always support groups for these types of things, no need to feel like you’re alone.
