They reelect them because they have hope, whatever large or small amount. Which is admirable, but often misplaced hope, because most people never bother to look up the voting records of their representatives. If they did, I suspect less people would get reelected.
I feel that respect for life would start the ball rolling in the right direction. Furthermore, the concept of serving one another, at the very least in our enterprises. When nearly any business owner goes into business thinking “im gonna be rich, bitch!” (And they may. Just look at Zuckerberg. Hes a total p.o.s. and got filthy rich), their business is more likely to suffer because instead of being innthe business of serving the public in whatever field they may be in, their obsession with money leads them into unethical behavior. Respect and service go hand in hand. If one has respect for their fellow man from the start, the concept of serving them and, yes, being paid for said services, becomes easier and therefore the business becomes more successful due to its great service.
For example, I’ve worked for many bad companies over the years. Companies that didn’t have service as its foundation. They failed, or had a bad enough reputation that they had to work so much harder to get new business. The bosses served themselves, not their clientele. The company I am with now was founded on serving not only the client, but also the employee, meaning we, the earliest members joined because we all came from bad companies to build something better. Both our clients and the employees reap the benefits of our founding principals of service and respect. My boss respects us enough to pay us what we’re worth and at the same time respects the client enough to give over-the-top service and that, combined with our skill set results in a better finished product. And as a result of all of that, the business is successful.
And all of those principals are vacant in politics. You have almost no one serving the people that elected them. They serve themselves and then, given enough time, the lobbyists that bought them. And that’s why I feel the way I do about them. I’ve spent over 3/4 of my life learning these lessons through very hard work. Lots and lots of failures. Enough successes to keep me going until now, but I fully understand why politics sickens so many. I’m right there too.
Now, I’m more apt to at least listen to what a veteran running for office has to say because they’re far more likely to had had their ass on the line for the nation. For their brothers and sisters in arms. I feel thats earned them my ear, at least for a little bit. I have a local congressman who was a marine, so I listened to him. Unfortunately, his positions mirrored Pelosi’s, so he did not and will never get my vote.
But people like Pelosi, Biden, Harris, etc… they’ve earned nothing from me (or anyone else for that matter) and therefore will never EVER be afforded any semblance of obedience from me. They can suck my hairy ass cheeks til their rotted, botox lips fall off.
