War Club actually has a decent range after it's buff!

I made a small video showcasing how strong the war club is after it’s latest buff. I honestly think that the war club is slowly starting to become a proper weapon choice after playing it for a few games. Feel free to watch the video and let me know what you guys think, do you think the war club is actually a decent weapon now, and do you think this would be consistent against experienced fireteams?

It’s a nice refreshment to the usual wrist blades/combi stick gameplay :)

in my experiance using the the club it seems to be pretty trash still anyone who knows the knife exists seem to still just be able to spam it in order parry without a thought in their brains and the little hop still seems to difficult to land if they just move like at all albeit this bunny hop thing you have going i’m not sure if that would actually work against a team who has good FPS skill but it seems to be a effective strat at canceling the down frames of the swings

Yup still trash.

animation melee flow still wasn’t fixed though from what I can tell lol. Pretty lazy just patching the issue instead of just sitting down and fixing it

It’s cool if you want a handicap, or just like the animations/asthetics, but it’s nothing compared to the elder sword or even the wrist blades if you want to get work done.

It’s an interesting Weapon to say the least. And yes, I get it’s a Power Weapon but goddammit man it’s so slow. I tried using it for a few Matches and found myself being an easy Target while engaging Fireteams. I prefer the Tossing utility of the Combi-Stick.

But at least the War Club isn’t as painfully terrible as the Handheld Plasma Caster.

Honestly, don’t sleep on the Handheld plasma Caster. For patch 1.08 I tested it in a private match with the Downrange perk. Landing all three ‘pellets’ dealt 40 damage from 15 yards out. With 6 shots that can fire every .5 seconds you will be surprised at your damage output. It also has AoE (though, to be fair, it is mediocre), it has unlimited ammo, it does NOT require a half-second charge time like the Bow, and it can be fired while cloaked. You are also NOT seen while aiming it if cloaked.

Another effect is that it plays some weird mind games on the FT. When fired it sounds like the Shoulder Plasma Caster… I cannot tell you how many times I was cloaked on a building firing this weapon and the FT started scrambling around looking at rocks and higher formations. If you fire 3 or more they may initially believe you are also out of energy.

The downsides are definitely the range and the ammo if you don’t expend all 6 before switching. You generally want to have all 6 shots available when you engage, so right now you’re forced to expend the ammo and give away your position. The reload animation is roughly 3 seconds, but you can still move, sprint or leap as it occurs.

I also thought it was terrible but wanted to try it out for the hell of it in an all-Plasma cast build… and it performed surprisingly well. Would I bring it against an all PC team? Probably not. Is it better than the Bow? I am… kinda starting to think so. I still think the thrown Combi stick, since it can do 130 damage, is the best item, but the Handheld can deal great damage and be really fun.

Nice @ksterner!! I’ll have to give this a go. All of my experimenting with the Handheld Plasma Caster was done before the 1.08 Patch. You’ve definitely piqued my interest.

I may fetch a 2nd copy and get into some in-depth Practicing and Number Crunching since I upgraded to a PS4 Pro (Hunting Grounds looks really good with a Full Color Range, Boost Mode and Supersampling enabled FYI). My Stock PS4 is just sitting there. Gotta put it to good use!!
