War club makes less damage than wristblade?

Wrist blade has the highest initial hit damage of any melee weapon. The war club does more damage by the time the combo is over, but not by much.
That definitely doesn’t sound right. There should at least be something to offset the minimal damage, like a momentary stagger effect or something.
