What if, Hitboxes were alter and over all polished up.
I was reading @Coffee2Go latest post and he has some very great ideas, but in my opinion were heavy influenced by his time playing ft solely. Which is fine bias is need and so are no biased ideas. He did however have a great suggestion to hit boxes and damage values on where you hit.
This is a great starting point but needs to be expanded on and change and also ft needs a set of damage drop of rates from Predator ranged weapons as well.
Let’s expand on the Ft to Pred damage,
The headshot damage infliction is simple and is 100% but thats with the mask tho, A mask less Pred should and does take more damage and needs to be in the 125% range of damage infliction.
Torso in my non bias opinion needs to be a variation of 35% - 75%, Depends on where the bullet lands. Closer to the head below neck line to where the breast plate ends should vary from 75% to 50%,
Below the chest plate to belt is 50%-35%. This will ensure a pred that is running away is less likely to get a critical 75% shot, but more likely if you are charging the ft.
Arms and legs need to be separate and each given a different value.
Arms 25-35% the closer you hit him near the shoulder the more damage the pred takes.
Legs anywhere from 10%-25% closer to the belt line more damage.
The Pred damage to ft is slightly more complicated since the pred has multiple range options. P.C (plasma caster shoulder) Bow, W.L (Wrist launcher), S.D(smart disc), H.h.c( hand held caster) and spear throw.
Lets start off with the simple ones, Bow, and wrist Launcher. All these have great precision and have projectiles that are not large to take up two separate areas.
The bow needs to have a 75% damage infliction on a non charged headshot a charged headshot and is released as soon as the charge is complete 125% damage and if it is auto fired after being charged for too long is 100% damage
Torso 75%-50% same as above.
Arms and legs can be grouped together via its less likely to hit them anyway. 25% damage.
W.L this needs a rework and a slight damage buff.
Headshot is 100% current burn time
Torso 65% and longer burn time
Arms and legs 10% shorter burn time
Lets start getting into complicated weapons now. The S.D and H.H.C. This seem to have a wide variation of damage already with a disc head shot already being near death to all anyway.
The H.H.C caster also has a weird damage output that needs a rework.
S.D
Head shot is 100% already but what if the rate of speed it has increased the damage. So normal speed is 100%, slow it down to its slowest speed should be 75% to the head. Full speed 125% to
The head.
Torso should vary much like the others with below the neck line to mid chest needs to be a high damage. 75-50% but the speed increases or decrease depending on the speed by 10% give or take. Below mid chest to waist is 50%-35% give or take 5% on speed of the disc
Arms and legs 25% give or take 10% on speed
Now the big kicker is the call back on the disc. I think the call back should have its one base damage value but get a multiplier per target hit on the throw. So base needs to be 35% add 5% per ft player hit has to be more than 1
H.H.C I can not really think of a damage base per where you hit since most shots hit multiple areas of the body. So I shall call on yall to help with this
Spear. Is the same boat since a head shot most of the time hits torso as well so I cant really see that needing a damage value to where it hits.
P.C now this is one of my favorite weapons and I use it a lot so I will pass this one on to yall as well to keep a non biased opinion.
The hit boxes in this game are mediocre at best. Sometimes then render shots sometimes they dont. I have come to the conclusion that the hit box for this game is slightly larger than the character.
They need to be polished up to buffer the hit scan this game has. If the hit boxes where just the character models themselves then hitscan would become less of a issue and shooting will become more of a skill rather than laser beam like.
I am no expert of hit boxes but they are sloppy in this game
