What Predator Hunting Grounds needs to be a 'better' game?

Hello one and all!
I see much love and hate for this game. Sad to say that I agree with both sides.

Yes the game looks great, lets give it that.
Does it have me playing for hours on end? No…

And that is where I would like this article to start off.
What would get you all to love Predator Hunting Ground?

I myself am a kiddy when it comes to big game programing, yet I host some small D&D like RP on Predator lore (mix of cannon and non cannon) and people enjoy hearing about the comic stories and movies.
So is it the need for more story that would help this game?
Maybe…
I for one feel that the XP missions are unfair as they only have fireteam missions… I DONT WANT TO PLAY AS FIRETEAM!!
I think it safe to say we all want more for the Yautjas in this game.
Part of what I do is base my RP games around the Yautja… NOT the humans.

I would like to have a 3 player, Yautja based game mode where more than 1 Predator is on a hunt.

I dream of the day that there will be a game like Assassins Creed but with Yautja as the main role. I want to feel what it is like to go through life AS the hunter… rank up from an unblood to young blood to elite and so on.

I also want to ask… why have the DLCs been so cheap?
nothing has been over $7…

Where is the money coming from to keep programmers and developers of this game payed??

Every Tom dick and jackass wants to play as predator

You need two sides to this game and if you only cater to one why even bother playing the other? What do you think will happen then when there’s no ft players?

Simple, they keep it cheap and make cash grabs so that the low cost adds nothing

Besides siege gets off better with 5 dollar characters than can be earned for free

Yautja hunt more than just ‘Oomen’ my good friend… bring them in to the game.

Keeping it Predator based and not AVP.

I know you were going to say ‘Xenomrphs’
That was suggested as a survival mode to put the Xenos in, but I would rather hunt other things.

Easy quick answer , it needs new developers . That isn’t going to happen though as it has lived its life and nothing else will ever be spent on it . It had its chance and it was pissed down the drain.

The only hope now is a new predator game down the line , by a competent team . It might happen sooner than later , but I wouldn’t hold my breath. You never know though but considering its disney that hold the IP ? It doesn’t look promising as they might take illfonics failure as a sign of the demand for a pred game . The game sold a lot of copies on console and then epic and steam . I hope we get a better one

Since launch there has been various threads of this kind, “how to improve…”,”what PHG needs…”,”what Illfonic needs to…”,”I want this for PHG…” etc. etc.

If you experience a lack of enthusiasm to engage in this discussion on a serious level it is probably because a considerable amount of “old timers” on the forum have tried your approach and have given up left with a feeling of not having had their feedback amount to much in the game.

The gameplay loop is shallow and lacking replayability. The objectives/alternate win condition also have no real connection to the pvp at all which just promotes a repetitive speedrun with 1 person shooting bad AI while 3 people laser the pred over and over again. Preds also all boil down to the same playstyle and classes in this game aren’t real classes, just some number tweaks.

On a mechanical level it’s too aim-reliant for potatoes and too braindead for people who actually play shooters.

IE think of Evil Dead, if you’re trash at aiming you can simply play a play a melee character. Here potatoes just drag down the team with no redeeming qualities and the balance suffers for it.

My work has a D&D based number system for most everything so far. I need to work the GUI and buttons in.
I am still new to programing but I enjoy the hell out of it.
I am taking ideas from some of my favorite games and implementing what I can into my game.
I like Mass Effect or Dragon Age on the weapons and upgrades there. Easy enough to program stuff like that.
The bigger part that I want is my game to have story and feel more like an Assassins creed where you live out the life of a Yautja. From a young thing to an old and tired elder.
I inted to have a working GUI some time in 2023

You want an honest answer?

The only game I really want is tenchu z 2.
Basically an upgraded Tenchu z with more options for weapons and abilities, ect, but keeping the same feel of the gameplay for the most part.

Aside from that, I mainly just play with people now a days.

Oh and that tenchu z 2, has to be made with multiplayer lol.

Do not know how many are, if any, but from a Consumer Experience Journey perspective (marketing term) that is irrelevant.
One thing is for sure: if you want a highly succesfull product it cannot be highly disconnected from the intended customer/fan base. I believe the fan base in here has had their fair share of disappointments, so words and intentions in this forum is not going to cut it - to put it briefly: action and proff of results if you want to hit the spot.

I am assembling a team to help me start on the project. My nephew who is an electrical engineer has agreed to set up the data base and file system.
I have another friend who is looking into INI, DLL, and DLSs that we can try to use.
