That’s actually pretty normal in this genre, as we do eventually get more content and have a known reliable release schedule, it will stabilize. Each time we get a map release, a good chunk of those players will play more. It will drop off after about 4 to 6 weeks. It’s why Dbd’s schedule is set to bring them back every 6 weeks.
You might think, I misspoke above as Dbd releases new maps every 3 months and that was true earlier in the games life, where you could see the drop between patches. They saw this an rebuilt their schedule to have mid-chapter drops.
Now the guys and girls at illfonic have some experience in this genre, and it’s pretty clear why they choose to do their roadmap and releases on the schedule we have. They’re monthly content was supposed to keep players engaged, they did 4 weeks instead of 6 because the sooner you stop the loss the more retention you can maintain.
This makes me think that, they thought with 4 week drops they could have more leeway to get maps (and modes) out by 4 months they wouldn’t have as many retention problems. The thing is you need your players to be aware of your schedule and communication is key to not having a shit storm when things are inevitably late.

Which is why they either need to open the communication up more or update the road map every few weeks even if it is just hey guys we are sad to announce that the maps are currently under work and is taking a lot longer than expected but we had a awesome set of coders that took it upon them selves to give you some awesome free emotes and more quick chat options for both The Pred and Ft and we are now working around the clock to get these maps perfected and out bug free. Even if they come out and say so we all know you all want maps and modes but we are running into huge issues with bug fixes and we hve postponed maps till the bugs are ironed out. To much to as for I dont think so.

I don’t disagree, I think communication needs a lot of work. I would much rather be able to let people know how it works then speculating about what it all could mean.
Personally I think we need someone who we know is the Community Manager. Is it OKHamlet or Courier, have they stopped by and introduced themselves. I appreciate the responses OKHamlet has been posting but I don’t know him. I know the Friday guys, have played with other devs. There’s normally a certain level of recognition, that simply doesn’t exist here.

They could also do with upping the xp limit to 200 with the promise of some more content e.g. only the most dedicated players get the bonus stuff.
The No Mans Sky guy May have been full of shit but at least he spoke of what he saw the game doing, and eventually delivered most of it. Once PS5 comes out all bets are off and this game will stop… unless new maps and game modes are dropped and the fanbase reignites.

That is straight truth. If they want to keep this game alive the ps5 port has come and it needs to be free like the Avengers game is doing or else this game will die like Evolve and will only be spoken of by its failure and will most likely cause Illfonics down fall and then they will be only remembered by the two failures they have put out

I wish that wasn’t true, I can only speak for the games I do follow and they seem split on the communication thing. Some have good communication and are open, others never say a thing.
It actually annoys me how good Dbd is at maintaining theirs, they make almost every one of their competitors look lazy.

The topic is what kind of burgers you think They would sell when they become a burger joint to survive. I feel like its going to be a classic burger at first. And it will coat 5.99 but that is just for the patty. Everything else is extra. Bun 10.99 , Tomato 4.99 cheese 2.99 lettuce 7.99 ketchup is 15.99 and pickles are 39.99. So they are going to fail as a burger joint aswell lol

I will admit, I do expect a new Announcement soon.
If the New GameMode/Map isn’t part of our initial RoadMap (May to August), I will be initially disappointed for sure, but nowhere near “I didn’t get new content a few months after launch even though that’s the norm for even Tripple AAA Role Playing Games like The Outer Worlds or even FPS like DOOM: Eternal, I’m gonna quit, take that Illfonic!” Such a weak arguement.
Also about the community, the Fourms are the most toxic place you could find for Hunting Grounds, but that’s more due to small egos thinking they’re as big as Mount Everest and just general whiners.
For the Communication, I’d rather have shit communication that only says facts once in a while and even owns up to the one failed promise at Launch than constant promising or teases on something that may not even come to pass.

I believe you missed the point. I dont want promise or even teases. I would just like some sort of communication. Also if you skim pass all the ego checks are on here that are so far and inbetween one another or mostly the same 5 ppl you will get those groups like @Fire and @Lazycollinator @Idunno56 that have stated that their usual teams have moved on and only play to keep the rust off and those are only a few here. I know the forums are toxic but that is just the internet as a whole not just here.
The roadmap has only ever been updated a week prior to the content being released so that is not a roadmap just a dlc scroll like super smash or tekken do. A road map can be alter and most gamers expect it to be alter but they dont even update it they just add to it when the dlc is out like ummmm. If they even updated it for the full month we would be happy other than that its not a roadmap
