whats the biggest problem with FireTeam

been playing a few game as predator and i have notice that tracking the fire team can be really difficult if you don’t have any tracking perks, if they have silencers and are constantly covered in mud, personally that’s my biggest problem and i hope that later they rework the target isolation to have a lower cool down or another way to track the fire team. That is my biggest problem with the fire team, i would like to hear some of the community biggest issues with the fire team.

It’s not that hard. When the match starts, head as fast as you can to the center of the map. Later on, you will learn about the Fireteam spawns. Right when the match starts, activate your thermal vision, and check the low left side of your screen, you’ll see a progress bar running low; that’s the cool down for your target isolation. When it finishes, and allows you to activate it, you must activate it immediadtely. They shouldn’t be far from you.

I just use where i spawn and assume where the fireteam spawn and track them for a while then attack. Im usually correct on where fireteam spawn 98% of the time.

When they’re using silenced weapons and far from you that’s where a headset with directional sound has helped me out. Stand still so you don’t stomp the ground and listen to the little pops. I adjusted my sounds. No music. Voice over 0.3. Sound effects max. I also got an EQ adjusted on my PS4 headset to increase sounds from the FT footsteps, silencers, etc.

SAWZ needs nerfed pistols need a major fucking nerf, and of course class stacking, it ain’t fun facing 2 or more Dutch 87 with the exact same weapon and perks, same applies to Scout Duelist, Support/Dante Field Medic

This thread is all about learning how to play, a.k.a git gud.
You can’t expect it to be easy to find the FT if you’ve only played a few rounds.

Nothing need to be changed about target isolation etc. I can hear the Fireteam using silencers across the map with my headset and THX Spatial sound.
You just need to play as Pred more and simply learn the game to know what to do.
You can even see the FT’s mission objectives in vision mode, also sound indicators, so i don’t understand how it can be so difficult for you to even find them…

Trying using a Predator that can leverage the ‘Tracker’ specialization - it ignores mudded-up FT and can help you locate them quickly.

Overall, if you play the game enough you will soon realize that the overwhelming issue with FT is their damage output. It is incredibly sided for n00bs that are either playing their very first video game or have no concept that there are 3 other players on their team.

Play the game more and you’ll know where to go, your just going to be in the same maps all day so it won’t be to hard to identify them, also set Alarms off the A.I will lead you to them like Blood hounds

Theyre all really gay

There are about 4 to 5 total (global) problems with Fireteam.

Problem 1: Damage Output
Fireteam Damage output is, for a lack of a better term, actually batshit insane. I don’t even think I have to explain why that is for the 100th time but here. Assault + Deadly/Bullet based Rifle + Bane is easily one of the worst offenders, but we can also attribute Leader as it also boosts the Spec User, Unleashed since it can be really great with explosives. Duelist Scouts are actual demons now that the Sprint Damage Boost is bonkers.

And that isn’t to mention stuff that does not get used as often, such as Sniper, or Overwatch, or Reckless, and Fanatic.

And let us talk about the Passives for Fireteam. I already mentioned Assault has their Bullet Weapon Passive, but a fair bit of Fireteam has other Damage related Passives. Dutch’87 has increased Hip Fire Damage. Isabelle and Support have increased Knife Damage as compared to the rest of the cast. Isabelle herself has a Damage Boost if target is past 50m.

This combined with the average Damage of most Fireteam weapons is absolutely overwhelming to the point where a Dutch’25 Bot who is using Deadly with a Slienced LMG, and has A.I related Perks on, which is nowhere near a actually optimized loadout for Predator Damage and is even slightly nerfed damage wise with the silencer can still shoot at a Pred and Second Wind them through sheer aimbot accuracy with some the bullets and not even get low on their mag should mean something.

Problem 2: Map & Mission Control
A experienced Fireteam Player/group will always have control of the map when they spawn in. You know why? It’s not exactly because they know where every pre-spawned in First Aid Kit or Ammo Box is on the Map, although that helps. No. It’s the fact that you can choose the optimal Spawn Ins for every Mission in every Match. Fireteam can either pick a spawn point that is way off the mark, half off, or right on target for getting to the starting objective in record time, and that overall means less time for the Predator to engage Fireteam.

It is even worst when these Missions are laughably so quick, that you will actually spend 2 minutes doing the mission in a 15 minute match, and you’re already cleared for Exfil. You can even save more time if you recognize that you’re going to destory some map object later on in the mission, so you do that ahead of time, the game even recognizes this in that if say a destruction objective is already completed when it comes in, it will literally say “Already Completed” before skipping ahead to the next part of the mission/Exfil. You can fix this by just making All Destruction Objectives Invulnerable until the Objective comes up.

Easily the worst offender is False Postive or Toxic on Overgrowth, missions that take place in one area only. This is something new Missions have fixed but the older ones need correction. Also on the case of Airstrip, literally take away half the Ammo Crates and First Aid Kits that spawn in on the map and it will be good. Right now it’s literally cancer, and I play both. It’s absolutely easy for Fireteam on Airstrip that I consider it a free win and refuse to play on that map.

Problem 3: Counterplay
So Fireteam has a lot of work around vs Predator. PDL can provide Intel as to Pred’s immediate location and in the case for a Recon - Spotter who has the Tracker Perk on combined with their Spotting Passive, Predator is spotted for like 12 fucking seconds, and they can’t do anything every time they get spotted because the DPS is too high for them to contend with a Fireteam that knows exactly where they are to get any damage done to them so they have to leave their spot and go around to find a new postion just to get spotted again. So that’s Intel, but what about Damage Reduction? Support has a real nasty habit with that. Their Damage Resist latches onto another if there is 2 Supports in the team and it stays with their corpse even as the Support is dead, so there is a reason to fight around a Support, if they’re alive or dead. And then there’s good old Field Medic. No explaining needed. Other counters include Anti-Cloak-Gernades and E.M.P Mines but both aren’t really as bad and are fair. O.W.L.F Operative being a Anti-Pred fighter with Pred Damage Resist makes sense tho.

Problem 4: Power Level
Yeah, some Fireteam are just too good. Dutch’87 and Dante come to mind. Both are very great at what they do and have little to no actual weaknesses. The others have actual downsides from being slow or being easy to down, if it weren’t for the bonkers amount of DPS. It always comes back to the DPS, you get what I’m saying here?

Problem 5: Lack of Loadout Diversity
You see, I’m not talking about Role Diversity, because Fireteam actually does that super well. What I’m talking about is, what makes a Assault Loadout different from a Recon Loadout if they can both bring in Sniper Rifles or Gernade Launchers. You get what I’m saying? If you want to keep the current DPS, then you’re going to have to further diversify the Fireteam classes by which Weapons they can carry. For example, most classes can carry Assault Rifles but there are exceptions. Recon, and Isabelle can only carry Sniper Rifles, Supports can only carry Specials, you get what I mean.

Sounds good, DPS is the biggest issue I face playing predator. I can get half my health melted by 2 fireteams in 2 seconds. I agree about the diversification, the class difference is done well but the weaponry should also be diversified to further establish their different roles. I think you nailed it all on the head

Damage definitely needs to get reevaluated. Above all else, I think. Pred has a choice of weapons that do a lot of base damage, and they increase exponentially with different combinations, but FT has a wider array that does much more damage just by default - stack on perks, specs and passives and you have a horrible imbalance.

Absolutely perfectly written

Stupid high damage is an issue, the spotting wallhack mechanic but the unbalanced stuff like Tracker on Recon, field medic, dmg resistance stacking on classes like Support, Dante makes It all worse.

Also the hitscan vs projectiles thing. FT is easier overrall to apply damage. Predator ranged weapons actually take skill to use.
