Why is this still such ass 8 months after release. Legit 1/3 strikes hit. FT just side steps in a circle and you could be looking right at him and strikes go right through him. Melee would actually be viable if the tracking were even just 50% better. Make your game work please.

Here’s a little things I noticed someone doing
I was using the Battle Axe they’re running away so I use the lunch attack, but they jumped causing me to miss their hitbox completely.
I thought oh must have been a fluke so I lunge attacked again, they jump again, and I miss again.
Tried it again same results.
So soon the conclusion of my test I wiped out my wrist blade, and proceeded to punish them
As soon as I hit the attack button they jumped and my wrist blade connects, they then realised they fucked up

What? Illfonic making Predator tools work? The fuck is wrong with you? Why would you even want that? They should restrict the Predator’s movement even more by forcing a leaping cooldown and a vision mode and cloak activation delay.

I honestly don’t think combos are meant to work.
I think its just this idea they had initially that failed when put into practice but they kept it anyways because speeding up some of the predators melee animations to make them actually connect looked too fast and too stupid with the predator reaching too far sliding around swinging. So now we have these useless melee combos.
They should’ve done away with tracking on everything other than small fast weapons (wristblades, sickle, lunges, fast single target damage weps like elder sword) and improved the AOE and arcs on everything else. Atleast axe has a lunge so they tried with that one atleast. Too bad melee is awful compared to ranged.

Well apparently if FT jump when they hear the audio cue from the axe during the lung, the axe will not actually connect.

But why do that when I can just knock the axe bigger than my body away with a my knife?
The jumping technique is most effective when running away or trying to get past the predator
BUT WHY DO THAT WHEN I CAN KILL THE PREDATOR!
