When do you think the next patch will come out?

Hoping there will soon be a hotfix for spam-spotting/seeing Pred through walls for 3 secs etc…

Really not feeling like there’s any stealth gameplay when facing an over employment of this mechanic. It’s almost like you’re forced to go into hopping ninja mode and not Predator at all; quick little hits here and there whilst trying to survive being hunted.

Very strange role reversal that doesn’t have the authenticity of Keyes’ team hunting the Predator in P2. It would be fine if there was a purpose built mode for catching the Predator as then you would expect this kind of gameplay, however FT don’t know anything about Pred and are surprised when he shows up from what I’ve heard.

Also I’ve personally experienced more bugs since 1.08. I deleted and reinstalled for PS4 today, so let’s see.

So when do people estimate that the next patch is going to drop?

I don’t think they’re going to change the spotting mechanic. I wouldn’t get ur hopes up for that.

As for the next patch, I’m assuming it’ll come towards the end of the month or so, around when the next dlc drops.

The predator is supposed to be a hit and run hunter. That said, I’d rather see an update that allows the fireteam to play stealthy, give us a real reason to equip the silencers. Currently most missions if not all have an objective that’ll force spawn NPCs at the fireteam location and negate all stealth they have done prior, the predator doesnt need to even try tracking the fireteam, just wait for the objective that spawns NPCs then head to the shootout. I’d rather the stealth for fireteam be better, increase enemies at camps and those roaming between camps, and have only a couple objectives force spawn enemies.

Also currently, most of my games as fireteam now, people spam spot where the predator is and not the predator itself, and we get 3, then it seems there is a second or two of cooldown.

Given the record right now, albeit short, monthly it seems.

Seems how they push DLC with patches.

At the very least, its predictable.

PC could be a different story because hotfixes are a normal thing.

Consoles - Sony don’t really “allow” hot fixes. There’s a whole approval process with patches and updates once is above a certain size.

@Courier is a spiritual creature who only appears in moments of most desperate need and when the hero is of the most purest heart.

Ah that sucks

I’m hoping they rework stealth for both predator and fireteam altogether, it feels like they took the basics and put that into the game. For fireteam stealth gameplay, they should look to ghost recon for how it should be done, for predator, it’s at a really good start, maybe change the spotting to have a longer cool down after the 3, decrease the time it takes to go completely invisible, slightly decrease the amount of verbal sounds the predator makes, but not the sound of its movement, the damn thing weighs 300-400 pounds for ducks sake, it will be moving that quietly, especially when leaping from tree to tree. Then while completely invisible, if it leaps, it wont leave that state for a second or until it lands, then itll have to hold still again, allowing better stalking of the fireteam. Illfonic didnt do the stealth portion of the game very well, feels like an after thought.

As far as I know Sony does approve hotfixes.
It just takes time to approve them due to testing time and other things.
Thinking about it ,it would be stupid for a giant company to not allow fixes for their own properties.
But they do allow them.
Never ever have I seen a game developer not dropping a fix or hotfix at least once for their game/s, nor developers/interns saying that Sony doesn’t allow hotfixes.
But life is full of fake news so you just gotta think for yourself or enroll at Sony’s.

I can’t take this back and forth! However it does make sense since PS4 got the last hotfix after all.

But yeah, if it takes a while to get through Sony’s own process, that might explain it if the next one takes a while.

I feel as though Predator stealth is fine where it is right now. The clicking near Fireteam has been considerably reduced, and you can literally just stand still to be completely invisible. Fireteam being Stealthy is cool, but shouldn’t be too big of a thing. Was Dutch’s group quiet as a mouse?

Difference is they were action heroes, supposed to be loud for the audience to keep their focus on the movie without getting bored. A small 4 man team is supposed to be stealthy. Without better stealth mechanics on both sides, this game isnt so much about the hunt as it is predator vs fireteam with oddball objectives thrown in in an attempt to distract fireteam from what most do already, kill the predator when he shows up.

Unfortunately spam-spotting negates this mechanic…and to add injury to insult your highlighted ‘cloak’ can be seen through the walls for up to 3 secs (then someone spots you straight away, rinse and repeat).

There’s no stealth gameplay when you’re in that kind of match unfortunately, and it often turns into 4 FT hunting Pred (as a glass Scout Pred I can say this is not a good situation to be in)

Sorry to jump on a side point of this thread, but I think ppl are confusing “hot fix” and “patch” with server side corrections. Both hot fixes and patches need to be approved by Sony(and the other console makers for that matter assuming the game is on that platform) but server side patches or fixes don’t require this flow through and can’t be implemented as soon as the developers are ready for them. From what I understand “hot fixes” are usually small in scale which is why the teams at Sony(or Microsoft) can get them through the review process fairly quickly. Full patches generally require more time.

I concur.

Further to that, as people like to default to the events of the first movie as reference point…I’d watched many times the movie and rewatched it last evening:

  • The clicking noise is easily listenable; fisrt half of the movie it pops here and there, of course unaware of it being from the Predator, it seems to be ignored as “jungle noises” by the crew

  • The cloak is way more visible than in the game…

Now my comment is just to ilustrate that people perceive things in different ways and there will always have room for enhancement…another point is, an opion holds true to the one voicing it…

This is a never-ending talk. I saw people in the forum rooting for nerfin x, then x got nerfed, same person is now mad it got nerfed.

Yep, well said

This.
Also my understanding is a hot fix is a “Oh shit our last patch, that just came out, screwed the game. We have no choice but to get a quick fix out there”.

Yep pretty much, which is why they’re generally smaller and for consoles, require less time spent in the certification process. That’s of course all moot on PC as they can push patches and hot fixes out immediately.

Hopefully soon. I hope they address the freezes. Constantly freezing as predator. Losing rounds because of it. The hardest part about playing predator isn’t skill, it’s overcoming how shitty the game works between freezes, bugs, constant getting stuck and bouncing off shit like a retard, etc
