Look, man. Typically, I would say you’re fairly reasonable in what you post.

But, I don’t understand why you think a gaming company doesn’t reserve the right to adjust the stats of characters/weapons/etc. of paid DLC.

First of all, the big companies do it all the time with games like Battlefield, CoD, Destiny, etc.

Secondly, could you imagine the hellscape of balance that would be created if every paid DLC was permanently stat locked upon release?

Look up digital consumer laws , no game developer is allowed to devalue something . They are only allowed to improve or to fix , they aren’t meant to effectively make something worse after you have paid for it . If you buy something and then they decide to drop its values (stats in this case) they are selling you an item and then not improving it .

This is why they are meant to test it before hand instead of doing it on the fly . These laws were put into place over the last few years because Sony got sued for refusing refunds for digital items that didn’t meet standards .

It comes under false advertising as well ,cleopatra they showed the wrong stats for her at release, so false advertising.

“Devalue” is the important word there. That has nothing to do with the in game stats. The “value” of paid DLC comes from your “enjoyment” of the product.

Someone could argue that a better balanced product provides more entertainment value, because a product that provides a disproportionate win-rate is robbing you of a challenging experience.

Whatever the best argument would be, an actual lawyer would easily win that one. Bottom line is “value” is not equivalent to “stats” in game.

So , let me get this straight . selling you something that is 10/10 , to then make it say 7/10 (stats) , isn’t devaluation? I thought the whole argument for the skins not all being just reskins was there stats?

Essentially, yes. As I said, the “value” is derived from the “enjoyment” of the use of the product. You might be able to claim that a nerf/change is so severe that you can no longer enjoy the product, but that would still be independent of whether the “stats” where raised or lowered.

Enjoyment doesn’t come into it mate 😄 , you might still enjoy to look at it visually, but it is still infact less than what it was at the time of purchase .

If you buy a carton of fresh orange and afterwards the cashier drinks half of it , you will still enjoy the juice but you still got less than what you paid for at the time of purchase 🤣

We do have that right however, knowing how Illfonic has operated and knowing every update has been getting worse and worse with little to no content every time then we can all start to see the pattern. These pos devs don’t care and never have, they scammed everyone to get as much money as they could and then leave without so much as saying a word.
