Who here wants an AVP Predator game but in 3rd person?

So this is how i see it, we have never had a 3rd person perspective alien vs predator game…
We have seen 3rd person perspective on the Predator side but I don’t think Aliens will have the same game play flow as Predator. that said, should we give a damn about playing as an alien or would that disrupt the tone. As we all know Aliens in 1999 AVP game by Rebellion sucked as as a low poly game. Today, I don’t believe it would straddle the slower pace of PHG.

Should we just see Predators fight against Aliens in PHG just to see how it will play out? and get a taste of how good it will feel to fight xenos?
I believe this should happen in PHG first and foremost before we get some AVP reboot. My biggest cringe moment is having to play a game where you play a xenomorph mechanic that has you jumping wall to wall in mere seconds and biting out something in less than a second. It looked nice in a cartoon in 1999 but for today with standardized CGI graphics with raytracing…i don’t think the people who like graphics want to see something happen in less than 2 seconds let alone one.

The fact that predators take a 6-10 second fatality kill in a cinematic is a note to all that the pacing is a concern and we need beautiful cinematics.

I hate that Predator in PHG is strictly 3rd person. I wish it would be 1st person at least when you do ADS

That’s why I love Fallout 4. The fact that I can easily switch from 3rd to 1st person on the fly, and even switch from 3rd person to 1st person only when I do ADS with a scope, is priceless to me. Wish all games were like that.

In fact every 3rd person shooter game I have played I wish it had a 1st person option, even if is limited to ADS

You have to understand how the mechanics work and whether or not you can imagine it.
I deplore the idea that you don’t see anything and everything happens too fast.
I don’t get why people still want it and not really get how it will work with NON-LOW POLY STUFF.

You’re merely asking for the ‘feeling’ you get from 1999s avp. You haven’t seen that shit since 1999 or its sequel. My bet is it basically sucks in 2025.

Look , people like Unreal Tourney, but we haven’t seen that shit since Fortnite and its not quite the same but its similar.

Ive played both AVP 1999 and AVP2 s and it was a cartoon at best. Not a league of competitive gaming in todays age.

PHG sets some standards of how to “play as” a human and predator and still keep a tone. Adding an alien needs some work. LIKE LOTSS of work.

We haven’t seen playing as a Xeno in a LONG LONG time. Thats a fact.

Not to mention all 3 need to be in a confines of a 3d environment that works well 3 ways.

There was a time when games never actually showed your character on screen except for the lobby. Do you actually just want to only see hands!?

YES!

Is called “immersion”. Is the same as a flight sim or a race sim. You only feel like you are really behind the cockpit/wheel when you see what do you actually see when you are doing it IRL.

Do you see your back when you walk around? Do you see your butt? Or do you see your hands, your arms, your legs and your belly?

Dude most games since like forever have been in third person or overseer PoV.

First person games have always been a rarity, even to this day, they are less and less.

Shooters and sims were the one genre where first person PoV made sense, I don’t know why people are drifting away from it. Is like they are scared of the real thing.

These are action figures. We puppet them. we don’t need that much immersion cause you know we don’t kill people like that. nor will we ever nor will we want to. Maybe in a comic, or cartoon or a Fortnight where are character dances a jig afterwards.

because the game hasn’t invested a crafted story. Because the story was shit and always was shit.

Like unless we went through a AAA title as an Alien on par with like Commander Shepperd from Mass Effect, we might get that but we didn’t. Too much money.

Nobody knows what its like to invest millions of dollars to live through the narrative of a story of an Xenomorph. I don’t think thats likely to happen.

to me, a FPS is a shooting simulation

seems to me like people are more obsessed on fantasizing about watching themselves doing stuff than fantasizing of actually doing stuff

if your perspective is being the puppet master, that’s cool, i’d rather have to option to immerse myself into what it is to be inside the game, rather than spectating it.
