Why 30FPS?

Is grass the reason this game is 30FPS? If so, there is no need for destructible grass.

What are your specs? Is this on PS4?

Not having that issue here.

I play on PC and I have an i9-9900k processor, an RTX 2060 Super 8gig and 32gigs of ram. My FPS can be over 100 and also drop all the way to 30. That is just the developer’s fault for a VERY POORLY optimized game.

Wtf? I have an i7-4770, 16GB, and a 1080 and I’ve never seen FPS get that low. I have the settings on Epic/Cinematic and if anything it drops to 50ish for me.

Surely there will be optimization improvements as support continues. That’s just really strange.

You serious?! Wtf lol I got all the latest drivers and everything. That’s very odd then, what’s the highest FPS do you tend to get?

I agree man, I’m starting to fear the destructible grass maybe be what’s hindering the FPS. XD If so I’m more than willing to sacrifice it lol. However it just needs more optimization either way.

Definitely 60, but it doesn’t stay on 60, as much as it should, lol. I mean, if I can play DOOM Eternal on max settings and have a buttery 60FPS… Haha.

Bad comparison, I know. Comparing Illfonic and their engine to ID and idTech 5 is just not right, haha.

Ahhh…Doom, now that’s a damn good game

R5 2600x 32gb 3400ram , RTX 2060, NVME SSD.

dont use any cinematic. set AA to low as it looks better and less blury than higher settings. Eerything else to epic. shadows to high. (in beta EPIC shadows were not available (checked configs))

Limit framerate to 60.

If the card is trying to push higher framerates then when something happens there is not enough headroom. lowering the max FPS means there is more headroom and less of a difference when something happens.

You notice a HUGE drop from 100 to 30… but you wont notice a drop from 60 to 45 half as much.

Test it out, or dont. thats just my advice and im running it fine.

So, that’s even stranger then lol I have better higher FPS but you never drop as low as me. Hopefully they address that because I’d rather have a smooth 60-70 FPS if it never drops lower than that.

it could do with more optimisation though for sure. but this is a small dev team not like Gears of war dev team

no worries hope it helps.

Also vsync off ingame and force it to “fast sync” in nvida ctrl pannel is best.

So I went into the Nvidia Control Panel and messed around with the settings and turned on fastsync and wow, I don’t drop under 60fps now! Thank you for the advice, it just made my experience way better
