"Why are you playing in the mud?!"

Nitpicky roleplaying stuff: as far as the FT knows, there is nothing that uses FLIR in the jungle, so why would they rub mud on as soon as they land?

By choice, I only mud after spotting the predator once or twice.
(Granted, I also try to take different lines than the rest of the FT, so they don’t get spotted with me.)

One of the in-game voice lines is “Applying camo”, so I suppose they’re justifying it as adding another layer to help them infiltrate the objective (reduce weapon-glare, etc.). It’s kind of weak, sure, but it’s a way to bridge the gap between the thematics and the game play element.
