Why did people think the AI needed to be stronger?

People ask for stronger AI in the event that illfonic doesn’t have an actual AI programmer to make them “smarter.”

Regardless, AI do tickle damage. While they stand there and let you shoot them in the face. If they atleast moved to cover it might be fine but ps4 will drop another 10 frames because UE4 spaghetti code.

Aside from their stupidity, lack of self preservation and comical reactions to situations a few of my own personal gripes with them are their sudden ability to home in on my location when the alarm sounds when the moment before they were clueless to my exact position. How they can suddenly materialise out of nowhere right next to you after the alarm sounds or a new mission objective begins. And how they can damage me with a shotgun from an insane distance but my shotgun which is superior in every way won’t even graze them?
Cunning Predator players have learned to use the AI as a way to track us, using them like bloodhounds which, while I respect the strategy, is an exploit as such.
While one AI can barely scratch us, a horde of them will down a full health FT member in seconds.

Fair.

In the past 48 hrs, its as if someone has flipped an F U switch and the AI drop in at a crazy rate and they are also stronger.

I felt like they were in a very distracting place despite them being so easy, but you’re being hunted by a predator. It’s supposed to be a distraction until the big baddie shows up.

Work needs to be done. They don’t even have dispatching/communications/searching animations.

They need to stop the ai being psychic. Sometimes you’re all alone. Mudded up hiding in the bushes and the ai just run right to you and lead the pred to you too.

If you’re alone trying to exfil it’s a good tactic to set off the flare and then mud up and hide till the chopper arrives. But the omniscient ai always run right to you.

When in tall bushes, hiding you with zero visibility of each other, they seem to know exactly where you are because they start shooting. I find this ridiculous. They should at least continue (when in tall grasses) walking towards you until they are in melee radius.

and they seem to appear guns wailing once you open closed doors in those missions where you have to unlock a door to find the drug lord. They should just be sitting down playing a game of cards!

when shooting an AI right beside another AI and nothing happens, absolutely no reaction from the AI something needs to be done.
When shooting at the enemies and they pretty much follow a straight line and line up, then something needs to be done.
when you can walk up right behind two of the AI together and start shouting get to the chopper and no reactions from the AI, something needs to be done.

There are so many other things that needs to be improved with the AI its not even funny.

I feel a good reason the FT are on easy street when it comes to completing missions and breezing through them is because the enemies arent challenging enough to stall the missions to make the longer and more of a challenge.

To be honest people should actually be able to play as the enemy to fight against both Predator and FT.

That last sentence was interesting.

The craziest thing to me is that the AI counts were nerfed. I actually forget they exist 90% of the time as predator unless they thirsted a kill from me.

Same thing as Predator. You’re cloaked and trying to get a kill in those final moments and the AI just rolls ups and start shooting you in the face.

I dig it. Low health. Limited ammo. A set respawn timer. Could make for very interesting games if the cannon fodder decides to duke it out with the FT or go hunting in the bushes for the predator.

the other stuff about the AI is just little things that can be tweaked easy to make the AI smarter with their positioning, movements, and tactical awareness

We still need the AI (for spots not taken) but I feel that we should be able to play as the enemy.

Predator one and two both had a faction that the heros had to fight. Predator one had the Guerrillas to deal with (kind of what we have now), the second one had the scorpios and the columbians to fight/ deal with.
Making the enemy able to be played by us has so many benefits for the Predator and the humans. would make the game crazy fun and challenging.

Yeah I want custom match options to choose AI Density/Difficultu, Match Timer, and other things. This is one of my most desired things besides the obvious bug fixes, lol. The others being less dupes in loot boxes, XP converted to a certain amount of VT post Lvl100, and Pred being able to gain more VT like perhaps having claiming trophies (FT and AI) awarding in increments based on factors comparable to FT’s VT drops.

Sorry I know it’s nitpicky but El Scorpio WAS the Columbians the other group was King Willie’s Jamaican Voodoo Posse, lol.

Playing OWLF/Stargazer with specialized weapons/gear totally different from FT would be kinda cool as well as a 3rd party everyone hates, lol. The playable guerillas/gangs being basically gimped FT would be a great gag faction. Winning with them would be like beating someone with Dan back in Street Fighter Alpha days, lol.

I know I just didnt want to use those words as to not offend anyone these days so I kept it simple. not seeing the voodoo posse in my post… dont know what happened there I put posse in. oh well good call.

The AI is annoying as hell now as both sides. FT because they are psychic and seem to materialize out of thin air and Predator because they despise seeing you get a claim. If I go for a long claim when they’re around, they get so angry and rush to my position. Like calm down, I’m not even attacking you!

I think they should have more randomness to their patrolling routes and add in more throughout the map , not just in compounds…they’re predictable and just react very basic. If they don’t increase the intelligence of the AI I wouldn’t mind seeing an increase again in the actual amount. Only time u see a reasonable amount is when FT has to defend something with the combination of an alarm being triggered.

I had a Predator player use this against me. I was mudded up hiding in bushes, I was the last survivor and trying to get to the radio. He couldn’t find me so went to the camp and spooked the AI so that they hit the alarm. Suddenly half a dozen AI materialise out of thin air next to my position, zero in on me and started shooting. Totally gave me away, and the Predator swooped in to finish me off. Smart play and I respect it, but it exploited the AI and that’s something they need to fix.

Yeah. Yesterday I was last man standing and we had a scout pred. So he’s already super fast. I completed the last objective solo and quietly and went to the exfil. Carefully managed my mud and had a moment where he jumped right past me. Got to the exfil and set of the timer. Mudded and had to run a full hundred metres from the exfil to hide in bushes while mudded. The ai ran straight to me. Luckily the pred was slaughtering them at the exfil site so I quietly killed the 2 that magically found me. Remudded and ran for the ropes. Made it with about a second to spare.

Previous attempts at hiding near the exfil didn’t work as the ai could sense my position and gave me away.

Sounds familiar… Scout Predator… Maybe that was me? I tried to play with the last one FT member, so attacked the AI, trying to help him. But he wasn’t in the fun mood and tried to kill me all the time he was able to see me :D
