I don’t understand, why do people want this single player mode so bad, this is a online game and if you want single player buy a single player game like GoT
Why do people care for a single player mode
People want more predator stories, and the thought of a predator story game gets everyone moist. Its not so much that they want a singleplayer game. Its that they want a good predator game. Thats something this game cant give, especially not in its current state.
Yeah but the devs make it clear that this is online, no one should expect a story
Yeah no doubt about that. Doesnt stop the begging tho unfortunately lol.
Because not everyone wants to wait half a century to play as the iconic Predator. ;)
This game will never be a single-player story game.
But you can’t exactly blame people for wanting that experience in the Predator universe.
You can’t just tell them to go play GoT… they love Single Player AND they love Predator. They want to merge them together.
I understand but why ask on an online game?
Doesn’t hurt I suppose.
If Illfonic have rights to the IP, who knows what they might decide to do in the future?
Because people dont see it as asking on an online game, People see it as asking on a predator game.
Because when the servers inevitably shut down or when there’s only 2 people left playing the game (which might be sooner than you think with the way things are going) you’ll still be able to play the game. Even if it is against poorly designed AI.
Because its Awesome, because you can play something instead of waiting 15+ mins to play for 5 then wait again.
Because you can do cooler things in a Single player game then you can in an online one.
They added single player to friday 13th. This game needs it you dont have to wait 10+ minutes you can play as the predator and select difficulty
People want a story mode because this game is unplayably boring and unbalanced. It’s not even close to what was advertised, and people feel a story mode would give some feel of redemption towards the 60 bucks they paid for it.
I posted this in another single player mode thread, so here, for you too op:
To answer your question OP, the answer is simple and straightforward.
1)Longevity of the game, one day, P:HG’s servers will shut down, having a single player component will allow players to play even after servers shutdown. This isn’t an immediate concern, but it IS a long term concern, I can go back and play ANY of the prior AVP, or even singular predator games right now, because they all contain a single player component, if P:HG’s servers went down today, we’d be SOL for any type of gameplay.
2)Lore/Storyline is one of the big draws of the franchise for some. I ADORE the OWLF/Dutch tapes, and anything that can give me more storyline, more information, little tidbits about characters I care about, or information about the creature itself, I’ll eat up, why? Because I love this franchise, always have.
3)Prior Predator/AVP titles had a “Tacked on” multiplayer. Historically, Multiplayer in these titles are an afterthought, a secondary mode, where the meat of the game was the single player, and you hopped into multi for fun and glory as a secondary thing. While I’m ALL for a Predator Multiplayer experience like what we currently have, a single player portion could bring more players into the fold, perhaps some are avoiding P:HG currently because it’s Multiplayer only, some people don’t like that… other’s might give the single player a chance, enjoy the gameplay and try Multiplayer, which only adds to the Multiplayer player pool.
4)Sometimes, you just want to hop on, and kill some survivors/hunt the pred without dealing with toxicity. Let’s be real, this game’s a bloody cesspool with some of the players, and even users on this forum, A single player portion of the game [even if it’s just bot-matches] allows a player who may just want to kick back, relax, and hunt some humans as the pred, to do just that, without having to deal with toxic players, or PC death squads with questionable movement and potential aimbots. I know in Friday the 13th, I enjoy the bot-match simply because I can hop in as Jason, and just, go kill some Campers for the fun of it. I’d LOVE to do the same in P:HG.
5)New Player Experience. The current tutorial teaches very, VERY little for Predator gameplay, and literally no information for FT beyond the “extra’s” menu containing what amounts to the manual. Having a solid single player experience that teaches the mechanics of both Predator, and Fireteam, even if just in a “simulated” bot match enviornment, would go a LONG way to improving retention and helping the NPE.
There’s 5 solid reasons for a single player mode.
This is perfectly as advertised. I’d say you simply didn’t understand the company you were getting involved with here, and had unrealistic expectations. Most people also only paid 40, not everyone bought the digital deluxe edition at 60, if you feel unhappy with your digital deluxe purchase, that should perhaps teach you to not just go all in if there’s any chance the product won’t be as expected.
No~! Not a story mode!

An Offline Challenge mode! ARRRHGHHG! Get it straight Elon Musk!

Anyone that says this game is as advertised didn’t read the guide book released before this game came out.
While we would love a story mode, I’m not expecting that, because I didn’t buy that. I want an offline mode, so when my internet is down, or they shut off the servers, I still have a game I put money into. It doesn’t have to be great I’ll settle for the regular maps, but with endlessly spawning AI. Something that’s relatively easy to make, won’t replace the online mode, but still allows us to stretch our predators out a bit.
Do you mean the Prequel novel?
I don’t care for a story mode. But I always want an offline mode for asymmetrical horror games so that I can still play them when the community dies. Ideally I love for it to be for both sides. I like being hunted by Predator just as much as I like hunting as Predator. I like being chased by Jason just as much as I like chasing as Jason. So forth and so on.
No I litterally mean a strategy guide for predator hunting grounds. It talks about the intentions of the game in one of the chapters and was written before the game released.
