I just played a match on derailed as the pred and the fire team just stuck in the little train area and camped the building with the second floor. Three of the four fire team members were running support field medic and the last one was a Dante unleashed. They camped the building until the time ran out making it a very boring and time wasting match. My question is what is the point of playing this way?
Why do people play like this?

I feel your pain. To all the field medics (dante or support) that play like this I have two words…

Were they inside?
You can hit em through walls with the pc to deal with that.
Most likely entertainment.
Hoping a pred runs in and then trap em.

Yes, and I did shoot through the wall and even the floor, but they just healed and all the shooting was for nothing.
Been a while since I ran into that.
Usually they lose.
I don’t mind it too much,
But yes, it can be annoying.

It’s so annoying when they camp up there. By that point all bets are off and I’m plasma spamming them to hell. Yes, they will heal, but eventually they’ll run out.
If you’re feeling ballsy you can rush them, sometimes they’ll be like OH SHIT and scatter.

I plasma spammed and it did nothing because all of them were the tank classes, even when I did get one down they got him up in like a second then they healed and all of it was for nothing.
I probably would have just quit out then. Not worth the time.
I regret not quitting, but I knew, just by the way they played, they would have seen it as a win for them.
Let em. Better you quit than die, that would be a far worse loss.

I’ve faced teams like that. I understand the annoying side of it, but I find it challenging. If you keep preassuring, they will eventually die. I got a couple of victories against this type of teams. It feels satisfying

In times like that, I’d just mow them down with a smart disc and force them to get out of the building and take those katana combos.

Were they PS players? I think I came across them too, it ended with the end of the timer. Against such players, you can take a smart disk)

This is most likely because they almost always get away with it without running into very many preds being both conscious/cognitive enough to be aware of whats happening and able to do anything about it.

Fireteam’s pride can be a very sensitive thing, some FT mains seems to take it personal when they get killed by the Predator. This is probably the first fps game many ever managed to have a good winrate at, which is easy when you only play in the side that has the advantage in an unbalanced game and your opponent doesn’t have hitscan weapons like you do. So they are willing to do anything to not get killed and to feel like they “won” by hidding like cowards until time runs out.
