Why do shot guns take more ammo to blow up barrels than automatics?

It takes about 4-5 shotgun shells to actually blow up a barrel, where as a few clicks of Automatics will blow it up seamingly instantly! I don’t understand how that works!!!?/??

To me one shotgun shot from any of the ones we got should be enough to rock one completely! Its BOGUS!

Anyone else find this odd or have anything to add, otherwise, i’m adding this to feedback!

Could have to do with a few things.

Id chalk it up to either A, the reduced range dropoff is severely limiting its damage against barrels.

Or B each shot counts as one shot (rather than each pellet) and as such you are shooting it the same amount of times. It just feels worse with a shotgun

It’s B

Try going up to a barrel and using a knife on it. See how stupid it looks (the barrel). They sure did a bad job at this game.

the knife barrel thing…IMHO, there is no circumstance in which that would be useful(tactically, its funny as hell though). --what you do with that knife on the barrel can be done by wasting a bullet. A knife isn’t suppose to penetrate metal barrels in real like so why does it hear?
SHotgun however, there should be no excuse.
I know from maybe 4 meters away it takes more than one shot.
But point blank (not that anybody would do it without blowing himself up), there should be a massive explosion right then and there.
No excuse for it.
