Why is the OP predators the only viable options

Shits gotta change. Preds need to go back to being scary and FT needs to go back to being scared. Push mission. There’s so much to say but the general idea is reverting most of the changes that have been made since the beta and possibly removing certain perks.

Apparently. I was maining Pred at the time, never touched FT, but I know I was getting beat a lot. Probably because I was still a potato and thought BTL was the shit.

I thought so. The cloak had just been buffed and damage output was less on both sides.

Damage was less on both sides, impossible the only way that is true is if ilfonic devs actually did a good job. Also how was cloak buffed?

So back in like patch 2.0 or 1.8 the cloak was buffed to be fully invisible outside of 40 meters. No more sniping from across the map.

Also specializations hadn’t been introduced so FTB didn’t have the insane damage stacking it has now

Ilfonic should bring back the cloak buff. It will bring back fun for predator players.

The thing with this game is that since the moment Dutch (senior) and OWLF were introduced, this game went from the elite team being hunted like in the 1st movie type of scenario, to an all out war between humans and predators.

Which…would be fine IF Illfonic equiped the predator with new gadgets and weapons as well.
I mean it doesnt make sense that humans have back engineered predator tech and are now catching and killing predators and the predators just keep using the same old equipment and dont react.

But.
This is a game.
And its mainly designed to favor the new players in it.
I get it.
New players need all these gadgets and indications in the beginning against the predator, otherwise they could get overwhelmed, get constantly frustrated and abandon the game completely.

Its just that in the hands of an experienced FT player, the same gadgets and indications of the pred’s position are becoming OP.

So like I ve been saying, Illfonic should have developed a system to increase the skill set and power of the Predator, dynamically based on which players make up the Fireteam.

The more I read threads like this, the more I weep about how amazing of a game this could have been if more care was used. I truly hope after they’re done supporting it they release the source code, so we can start a modding community and fix all their bullshit and add in all the stuff we wanted but couldn’t get.

I don’t think it was ever like that. This game never had any kind of stealth (sadly). Stealth is needed in order to create the right atmosphere to be “scary”.

Dude, Dutch 2025 was the first DLC. It was released like three weeks after launch. WTF you talking about?

OWLF operative was added like a year after launch.

I like the FT gear but yeah, pred should still have more and better options. He’s the God damn Hunter. That’s like hunting deer with a rifle and them chasing you with a Humvee.

Here is what I would 100% change:
Countering the melee attacks of the predator, will cause him to stall like they do now, but dont cause damage to him. It should just be a mechanic to give some time to the other FT members to save the person that is under attack.
All classes of Predator click only when their stamina is low. Something like breathing heavily to catch your breath, after running.
And most f***ng definitely, the switch from and to thermal vision should produce no audible sound!
