What’s the Point, it’s not necessary because people make builds and abuse the system, it makes the game unfair and should not exist, but I understand sometimes you need that advantage especially for first time users but now people are just rude after they defeat you, Preds and FT a like, if you are that person be a good sport not a doosh.
Why Perks?

theoretically it creates interesting game play decisions where someone can put together a combination of them which improves there dude in ways that revolve around the game play they themselves want to do making the player feel very unique in their approach to solving the games problems
the problem comes when devs forget they have to make sure that if there going to allow for Stat based choices so +% and -% the numbers have to be minuscule i’m talking 1-2% so much so that it’s basically not worth taking so that the choice itself isn’t either mandatory or overpowered or there has to be drawbacks to offset crazy high percents or ya know prevent similar effects from stacking
as otherwise you end up in powercreep situations were a meta is formed which brings unsatisfactory optimal gameplay from the people who discover it

Indeed it’s quite frustrating, such mathematical equations should be left to school not video games where even a slight percentage can turn the tide of battle, in fact now thinking it, FT should not have weapons since Dutch defeat one using his wits not his guns

Personally I love minmaxing and calculating to find the most optimal ways to play. And perks in theory could create variety, but since there is like 5 perks on each team worth using there isn’t much variety going on. same with specializations.

Talking shit is apart of games.
Sometimes it’s stupid and annoying, other times its stupid but funny.
If both ppl talking shit are actually cool, they’ll just laugh it off and start joking with each other.
Its happened SEVERAL times with me in this game.
I still run into more cool ppl than not.

Playing any game without enough options for customization and unique gameplay strategies gets stale quick, but so do games that have a clear meta,
Developers need to balance the opportunity cost or a negative effect with the positive traits gained from perks otherwise you get a meta.
As far as values they need to be big enough to notice yet not too strong to change the gameplay too much. I think the sweat spot is in the 10 - 20% range, but that should account for stacking effects.
Also, any time an FPS game has “perks” that effect health and damage, it’s going to be tough to get that right because those stats are so influential who wins each exchange. Usually, it’s best to leave those types of perks out of an FPS.(e.g. thick skin, Yautja’s bane, down range, fearless, impenetrable, etc.)

There are a couple times the predator could have finished him, not to mention the obvious fact that Jungle hunter went pure hand to hand when he could have used wrist blades.

He could have killed him at any point of the movie with a PC, but wanted a challenge. While observing the team, pred concluded that dutch would be a worthy last man standing. Though it was a close call, i think his accent made him win out over the rest of the party. I think pred was in a dark place, probably coming off a bad breakup with Karen, and just wanted to be honorably ‘discharged’

Why Perks?
They add variety to the Game and offer the possibility to play a class in multiple styles.
Like I can play Dutch as a Tank, Damage Dealer, or Runner.
And Preds are able to do this too, so there is nothing to complain about fairness in this regard.
The current balancing regarding the perks on the other hand is a whole different story. ;-)
