Why wont you fix the knife nonsense...

The parry system is in place to prevent the Fireteam from being steam rolled by a button mashing melee Predator, yes.

However, it needs to be altered so that it is a purely defensive option. The parry needs to stun the Fireteam member for the same amount of time as the Predator. He should not be able to retaliate, it should be a mechanic that buys time for your team to move in and assist, not for the Fireteam to single handedly murder the Predator.

If you are the last one alive, then it is time to accept your fate, and become a trophy.

That’s kind of my though on it anyway.

Don’t listen to these guys. If you as a predator want to use melee, the key is to stand either below or above your opponent. and aim at an angle. Wins everytime!

The predator has plenty of tools to deal with a single player that is 1v1ing them with a knife. The parry system is a little janky but I don’t really have a problem with it.

Would it be fun to just slice and dice the fire team with no repercussions? Yeah, absolutely, but the parryis fine. The player can’t really punish a parried predator 1v1 since they are stunlocked together. his allies can though.

If the predator loses all of his stamina from a parry that is a problem though, it should probably be equal stamina loss between both melee players in the parry

So basically bring weapons to win a 1v1. There goes the players who don’t have special weapons unlocked yet. Every melee weapon can be parried except for the War Club’s super slow last hit and certain katana hits. In an asymmetrical game, the “weaker” player should not be able to hold their own against the “stronger” one. The FT can get two knife swings in after a successful parry. In a straight 1v1 melee fight, the FT will pretty much always win if they can parry.

The FT member recovers faster than the Predator and can get off some knife swings. They can practically parry the Predator forever (I’ve seen people get multiple parries off while their stamina is very low).

Well everybody has slam, and that’s basically a guaranteed win on a single FT player.

Also, the net gun is unlocked very early.

But honestly, it’s doesn’t take much skill to mix up the timing on the wristblades to take down one isolated player. Also, war club has an unparriable attack now, but you already know that.

2.if one side is supposed to be weaker then why do we half to balance out the pred gear? To be “fair for the ft”
3. At the moment ft will melt the pred
4.in a 1v1 a pred will not loose uless it’s a wristblade vs knife so we have elder sword,Sam sword,combi throw,net gun,warclub
5.the ft always wants pred nerfed cuhz they succ how is this making the pred get the upper hand?

Hasn’t every patch buffed the predator and nerfed the fireteam?

Please don’t bring the war club into this.

That weapon is atrocious and is an exercise in mental fortitude just to use it.

Its " disorienting " effect is laughable at best. Oh! It has an unblockable attack in its combo? Yeah, good luck landing that final swing on anything but an AFK player, the tracking is aweful.

I’m sorry , but the war club isnt viable in it’s current state, to be used in game or part of any sort of arguement.

I’ve had it freeze me in place through a glitch but since they all surround and knife me. The problem isn’t with the knife it’s that the pred can’t knock someone aside to leap away

I still think traps should become a thing at this point. Keep reinforcements on certain maps. Let the last person set traps on other maps.
Or a perk for it, anything.

I’d like to see some gameplay altering perks with tradeoffs ala DBD’s Obsession mechanic.

Zerk got nerfed into oblivion like 3 patches in a row because no one knew how to parry the first month of the game bc FT doesn’t get a tutorial. Now he gets exhausted swinging on one support lol.

Parry actually had to be nerfed down from a state where one person could parry 7 times with no break in between. If you both just went into a private match and swung at eachother the FT would win just randomly slashing lol. Of course they’ve been nerfing FT.

There was a minor nerf to the zerker as they buffed predators in other way. If you take the nerf with the buff… There was no nerf.

Combi swing speed and damage nerf in 1.06
Zerk melee nerf in 1.08
Combi melee nerf again in 1.0

Meleestick zerk is very much dead as a playstyle just the swing speed itself was huge as it made it much easier to parry. The third hit is the only thing anyone needs to care about parrying the rest do laughable damage at this point unless you are bored and playing recon. They genuinely could’ve just dropped the tracking on it and made it a free aim melee weapon. The tracking was always too good for an AOE weapon and was what let zerks just mash melee & pubstomp randoms that didnt know how strong the knife was.

The issue now is that people like OP unlock zerk or buy samurai and go “wow a melee class cool perks this should be a fun playstyle, a katana jajajaja” and then 4 people bodyblock them in a doorway, chase him with knives, and stab them to death because that is melee in this game & it cannot be allowed to be good because pubs cannot parry or not break line of sight 3 months later.

Go lock at all the buffs predators got in those patches, including damage reduction to melee weapons.

Did you realize one light attack from one person did the same amount of damage as the fucking shotgun at the time without heavy hitter? Because that was why.

8 slashes from one person (you could get about 4 light attacks off during a quick claim by yourself lol), or 2 slashes from the whole FT which hilariously downed pred faster than any gun most people had unlocked at that point because knife stabs have no cooldown and if you boxed the pred in for the mega cheese he couldn’t leap, probably still can’t. Double time stab scouts was super cancer and so was sprinting next to the second winded pred with your knife out like flash gordon. Lets not pretend FT wasn’t rolling preds at launch. Pred hid like a cat in trees from knives.

Dude, that is not relevant, point is, overall the berserker got a BUFF because ALL predators got a buff. The reason why not many still run zerker is because of the fact that the rest are better if you can play anything but melee spam AND the fact that now people have LMG and better weapons to burst the pred down.

Its more like melee doesn’t exist as a playstyle. Queues are back down to 6 minutes a day or so after samurai release because what the fuck are you going to do with another zerk and a worse elder sword. People try it, get parried or stabbed to death maybe make a post like OP’s and bail.

Melee needs a rework if they’re going to try to release melee predators.

Back to me no fucking around on forums… The knives are op… hit harder than a sniper rifle.
Combi stick throw to face insta knock down after 2 hit combo
Fully charged plasma decent dmg but hide behind something before you use it or duck
Disc is great if they don’t destroy it
Bow hs downs a scout or recon full charge

Samurai sword superior to elder… you may ask y… cause the range if properly executed cannot be parried by a knife.

Predator isnt the easiest to use into 4 premade x-men… nobody says you have to rush in and kill them at the start.

I don’t know what you’re playing but its not the game I am playing. There is nothing, NOTHING more prevalent in this game then melee. I do play with randoms so I don’t know but 90%+ of kills from the predators come from melee, including from full to 0.
