AVP Capcom was a cartoon, great as it were it went no where not even in the EU.
Nothing cartoons ever becomes anything important unless they order more of it as a serialized event and even when they do…its a gamble unless there is merch involved.

WTF could they possibly do with KOK? unless they shell out a whole lot of stuff for props from a different period.Thats where shit gets expensive and where KOK fails. Its not as self-contained to characters because the development for predator characters is almost like 4 minutes worth of material.
Which nobody feels obligated to make merch for a character that lasts 4minutes.
There are TONS of great PRED designs by indie makers. To be honest, they could do a whole lot more with those than this movie which literally used a still to make their delelted scene which someone like myself could have baked up in less than a week.

You’ve mixed up cause with effect. You applying less worth to animation is the problem. If people took animation more seriously instead of just discarding it as childish, we’d get more quality animation. It would go places and get the merch and all that other stuff.
And the rest of your ramble has nothing to do with animation, but I’ll tackle it anyway. Star Wars is the king of selling random characters. Remember Captain Phasma? She was in two movies and had less screentime than any of the predators in KoK. But Star Wars is marketable to children, so merch is much more of a guarantee. More adult franchises have more trouble with merch, and if its about a niche subject, even more of a gamble.
And they could make more KoK likes, using more preds, but Dan wanted to ruin the franchise further, so we got this extended nonsense.

Kok walks a thin line because its use of animation was exploitive. Not even Assassins creed origin used animation to this extent. I use this example because the use of era based imagination doesn’t need to go that over the top which KOK did to get through the narrative, not to prove a point that predators or even the humans in the franchise are cinematically animated. But the DAN movies made it so and if it doesn’t prove himself, its possible that he will soil the franchise if he doesn’t make another PREY again.
To be honest, people thought PREY was impossible, but at least we didn’t really notice the impossible.
Thats where DANs live action might prove to be a good chance at winning the audience again.
Its like why would Ridley Scott try producing an animated film when everyone knows what we get with Ridley is great photography and crafted visuals?
