I too have been a fan since the original came out.
The, as you put it, “garish” customization options don’t bother me because why would they? I’m not being forced to use any of them, and someone else’s decision to do so has no effect on me whatsoever.

Glad to see there are still sane pred fans around, lol! Rocked JH totally clean with no customize bs. Rocking CH now with a more movie accurate colour on his mask than his default bronze colour, which is the sage colour. It looks better in game than it does in the customise menu.

Ok, well I thought the ‘Warning’ disclaimer at the start, and the sign off line were indicators that I was kind of poking fun at my own curmudgeonly attitude to this. Obviously I’m not actually spitting feathers over the skin/armor choices, and there are far more pressing issues with the game that need addressing - And I certainly didn’t mean to imply ownership of the series - I only mentioned I was an ol’skool fan to further emphasise my ‘bah humbug’ approach.
I’m actually pleased there are so many younger fans of Predator. Considering the average-to-terrible quality of all the subsequent sequels it’s a bit of a miracle, but it’s a testament to just how great and influential that initial film was that he’s still hanging in there as a pop culture icon.
Yes, I do find the technicolor dream coat skin/armors tacky and out of keeping with the aesthetic and mood of the Pred, and I do struggle to understand why if you’re a fan of something you’d want to then change it so much that it barely resembles the thing you became a fan of (I mean, do Batman fans clamour for neon green polka dot suits and an option to remove the cape and bat ears in their games? Maybe they do?) but as I play primarily as a Pred, I don’t have to look at them. I do however feel sorry for FT players, as whenever I play as FT it’s always in the back of my mind “I wonder if the Pred is going to look like a Pred” - because nothing destroys the immersion of the game as when you’re laying there bleeding and a 7ft Sesame Street reject goofily bounds over to claim you.

But I dont see how you can hate the different colors for pred.
Just because it doesnt copy the original.
My main pred has a more serious look to it, but a few of my preds are a bit colorful.
I like that purple skin, and purple isnt even a color I really like.
Not only that, we barely get to check out how a pred looks in match anyway. If I’m playing ft, I dont really care. All I care is about murdering the pred.
