Rey’s mother was just a regular person. Her father was a young clone of Palpatine that Sheev wasn’t satisfied with, but kept alive to use for organ harvesting etc. But he escaped and attempted to have a normal life. Sheev however, kept tabs on him and had he and his wife killed by an assassin after discovering Rey was born. That’s why she’s so strong with the force.
