Premises are not the film itself and these premises are not bad.

Besides your first premise completely cut out the main antagonist from the equation which drastically changes the film.

I posted the whole thing. The movie has no vital plot points because nothing happens aside from the guy stopping her from opening the door for 10 years.

you should try watching it its a joy to sit through the vague premise never gets mind numbingly tiresome

It was a vague premise as soon as whoever ditched the original script for whatever this hostage drama was supposed to be tried to stitch it into a Cloverfield film and murdered the franchise

You should watch it. I think it’s decent at worst. The chase is not that long actually. There’s initial intro, uneasiness and suspense and ‘getting along’, confusion, the plan, plan fails, chase, escape, ALIENS
