Greedy is subjective, some people are greedy among ordinary that do not make the law. There are also greedy people that are smart and laws exist for protection of citizens, they existed since early homo sapiens and will continue to exist. So no they are not greedy, but smart and laws are and will always be necessary and strict to prevent crimes and other scenarios in case of anarchy. That is not weakness, quite contrary. Here’s why the constitution works

It was written by a bunch of revolutionaries who just completed a revolt against a tyrannical government. Now the second amendment does work, as I can go buy a gun like I might pick up a bag of chips from a gas station and carry it with me wherever I please.

Now as for you my memory of french gun law is that you can’t have a handgun or concealed carry unless you have a permit which is only issued to those at high risk. Maybe things have changed but idk

Constitution was written by the government, those revolutionaries had their own vission of the government before they became the government. Foreign fathers were the government and created the laws. So you are pretty much self-contradicting in terms of trust. You trust to government as much as me, only your version of government is not as same as mine. The constitution and government are two separate things. The constitution and bill of rights exists to limit the government from infringing on people’s god given rights. If you think I trust the actual government you’d be wrong. However I believe in the constitution, much as one might believe in a law that prohibits murder.
